WE ACKNOWLEDGE
We acknowledge that our festival occupies spaces in the city known as Toronto, on lands and waterways that have known human activity for thousands of years. It has been the territory of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy of Six Nations, and more recently is also the territory of Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit, who are part of the Anishinaabe Nation. These territories are of the Dish With One Spoon Covenant: a single dish that holds all the bounty, and one spoon to draw from that dish. Everyone will only take what they need, always ensuring that something is left for those who follow. We acknowledge our privilege to stand on this land, our responsibility to uphold truth, and our shared stewardship of our home and each other.
The Fringe is dedicated to promoting and creating a climate-conscious theatre festival, both onstage and off. We acknowledge our responsibility to take care of our planet, not take from it, as we gather to create, connect and play together across this city. We have partnered with the Canadian Green Alliance, a not-forprofit devoted to bridging the gap between sustainability and theatre – to ensure we keep the environment front of mind.

We are committed to making a festival that is vibrant, diverse, inclusive, welcoming, and safe. We’re dedicated to creating spaces where community thrives. Authentic safer spaces require commitment, accountability, and support from everyone in our community. If you witness or experience harassment, violence, or discrimination, please tell us. We will listen, and we will support you. fringetoronto.com/about/safer-spaces

WHEN YOU SUPPORT THE FRINGE...
...you support a vital opportunity that empowers and amplifies artists – the artists who move us, who challenge us, who entertain us, who reflect who we are and what we care about. You invest in the power of storytelling and shared experiences. Fringe cultivates community, fosters the next generation of art makers, and believes in the power of live theatre. We are where art starts for so many – Fringe feeds the theatre ecosystem and supports its sustainability.
What you experience at the Toronto Fringe Festival is a portion of what we do to fuel our city’s performing arts: our year-round programming includes workshops, grants, playwrighting contests, training programs, and platforms like our Next Stage Theatre Festival to bring rising stars to the next level. For many artists AND audiences, Fringe is their first stage, where they discover their voice and the profound experience of theatre. Fringe is a large financial contributor to the overall economy, a proven source for strengthening mental health, a necessary form of education, and a vital role in building community. And above everything it is the place where everyone is welcome.
We need your help. Every bit matters. We’re in the midst of our biggest fundraising campaign ever because our fiscal stability has been jeopardized. With your help, The Toronto Fringe can get back on track and become more resilient for the future. Together, let’s ensure that artists and audiences can continue to share their vital stories for the next 35 years, and beyond.
