Calder Playing Cards

I have always been fascinated by Alexander Calder's interest in play. When I curated the Calder show for the Centro Bolin in Santander, Spain, we involved Calder's friend Agnes Varda, and she also emphasised the importance of play in his work. In 1975, Calder created an amazing series of gouaches, the 'Card Players', and these, quite appropriately, have now been made into a deck of cards. £14
