The Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Studies gives you knowledge in a wide breadth of subjects in the sciences and humanities — the liberal arts tradition — and develops your skills in critical and creative thinking, and ethical reasoning. Coursework provides general knowledge and develops intellectual capacities in reason and judgment. The program is comprised of courses across academic disciplines and enhances your knowledge and understanding of the world around you.

But there’s more. You will examine diverse cultures, gain an understanding of different belief systems, and learn how to affect positive social change. Most importantly, you will make that positive difference through experiential learning opportunities built into your courses.

Keeping your options open? The Integrated Studies degree gives you a broad range of career choices. It is especially useful in the nonprofit sector, government, public relations, and communications.

In addition, this major is ideal if you plan to enter graduate or professional school after completing your bachelor’s degree. This program of study provides a solid foundation of knowledge which prepares you for a more specialized advanced degree program.

An Integrated Studies degree works well if you have started a degree in the past, but have never completed it. Often, credits from previous college course work in a variety of majors will apply toward this degree.

Where is the Integrated Studies degree offered?

We offer adult-focused bachelor’s degrees in Wichita, Topeka, greater Kansas City area and online. Not all courses and programs are available in all locations or in both online and on-campus formats. Please check with your Admissions Counselor for more details.

How long will it take to complete my degree?

This varies depending upon several factors, including how much previous college credit you have. However, you can start as soon as you want and finish as soon as you like. You determine your own pace – whether you want to take one evening course per week or more than one per week. Your admissions counselor can give you a better idea of timeframe.

Is the degree accredited?

Yes. All Friends University undergraduate and graduate degrees are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.

Application fee ($35, $50 international) – Friends University waives the application fee for all active duty and retired military personnel.
