This programme was produced for the international friendly between New Zealand and New Caledonia at Auckland's Newmarket Park, played on a Tuesday evening in October 1968. The match was won 3-1 by the visitors, with Paddy Breslin scoring New Zealand's goal. The publication doubled as a souvenir for a match played on the previous Sunday between a Newmarket Centennial XI and a New Caledonia XI. That game was preceded by an unusual competition between footballers, rugby league players and All Black fullback Don Clarke to see who could kick a ball the furthest.
