New Zealand football fans were treated to a friendly between an Auckland representative team and SC Preussen Munster, a visiting German club, to celebrate the opening of the sport's new home at Auckland's Newmarket Park. The Germans ran out 4-2 winners and two days later, they beat a New Zealand national side 6-0. Newmarket Park became a popular venue until a landslide forced its closure in 1979. This publication was produced as a special souvenir for the park's official opening. Programme courtesy of Dave Petraska. Converted to digital format by www.friendsoffootballnz.com.
