Internship at Brooks Brothers Donated by: Debra and Claudio Del Vecchio, Brooks Brothers Brooks Brothers is pleased to offer an exclusive month-long paid internship to an FA student, where he or she will gain valuable work experience and learn the inner workings of America’s oldest apparel brand. This customized experience offers one lucky student the opportunity to spend the month covering a variety of areas of interest. This could include Marketing, Public Relations, Fashion Design, Wholesale, Merchandising or Retail Management.

During the month, the intern will spend time with both company leadership and young professionals. He or she will gain professional skills while working in a corporate environment. Such activities might include: meeting with fashion editors to select clothing for a photo shoot; participating in the production of special events and sponsorships; working alongside designers, merchants and developers to learn how products are made; touring the Brooks Brothers tie factory; and meeting with the creative and social media teams to learn about Brooks Brothers’ campaign and brand messaging. The ideal candidate is an FA rising senior or recent graduate. This internship will be scheduled for a mutually convenient time, typically during the summer months. The participating student will be compensated for their work at standard intern wage. A college student may be eligible for academic credit, as permitted and determined by their respective college or university.

With a presence in museums and galleries all around the world, Werner Drewes was a German born and bred American artist who studied in the 1920s at the Bauhaus Weimar and Dessau under such Masters as Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Ludwig Mies van Der Rohe and others.

In New York, Drewes taught fine arts at Columbia University and helped design the 1939 World’s Fair building. Today, his work can be seen in museums and galleries all around the world. Before passing in 1985, an exhibit of his work filled half of the first floor of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC. Today, the Smithsonian Archives house a complete collection of his prints (including those featured today) as well as all of his personal papers, notebooks, sketch pads and correspondence.
