Will You Join David’s Prayer of Deliverance for Israel?

The words of David are ringing in my ears. The great king of Israel spent a good part of his life running and hiding. In those dark moments he cried out for God’s help. This psalm is one he wrote when Saul sent men to watch and capture him.

Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; Defend me from those who rise up against me. Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, And save me from bloodthirsty men. For look, they lie in wait for my life; The mighty gather against me, Not for my transgression nor for my sin, O LORD. They run and prepare themselves through no fault of mine.

Awake to help me, and behold!

(Psalm 59:1-4)

Today the entire nation of Israel is joining David’s ancient and urgent plea for God’s help. The bloodthirsty workers of iniquity have risen against them...their enemies are laying traps for their destruction...and mighty nations of the world are joining together against the Jewish state and the Jewish people.

I’ve written to you before about the danger posed by Russia’s growing alliance with Iran. But in the last few days, there have been startling and terrifying developments. Russia is now talking about returning more than 25,000 pounds of enriched uranium to Iran. Iran sent it to Russia, and

Returning the uranium would dramatically shorten the time it would take Iran to reach the breakthrough level, which they are already frightfully close to achieving. But there is more...

China recently brokered a peace deal between Iran and Saudi Arabia. This is a staggering step, as the Sunni and Shiite Muslims have violent disagreements about their religion. Iran has been funding terrorists fighting against Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has been working quietly with American and Israel to hinder Iran’s nuclear program. It’s too early to know yet how that deal will play out, but the fact that it has even been made is a grave threat to Israel. But there is more...

David’s words could not be more prophetic. What the nation of Israel is facing today is like nothing that we have seen in the entire 75 years of the modern Jewish state. In the natural, the fight cannot be won. But the God of David...the God of Israel...the God we worship and serve has something to say about that!

And that’s why today I’m asking for your help. As you may know, we are heavily involved in meeting the urgent needs of the poor of the House of Israel in both Ukraine and in the Jewish state. We are a lifeline of help and hope to people who have nowhere else to turn. And we have to keep doing that. It’s literally a matter of life and death.

We must continue to operate the Friends of Zion Museum where the true story of Christian love for the Jewish people is told day after day. We must keep on reaching out to young IDF soldiers dealing with the effects of PTSD and let them know they are not alone. We have to keep helping Jewish widows and orphans.

And now we must also prepare to respond if the war Israel’s enemies are planning and plotting breaks out. We can’t wait until the bombs are falling to respond. We have to be ready.
