Freya Wilson

hey there!

My name is Freya and i’m currently studying graphic design. I mainly specialise in editorial design, branding and magazine design. This is due to my strong passion for fashion. I have always had a love towards fashion and the power of visual storytelling. Vogue has been a major source of inspiration for me, showcasing how fashion magazines can influence trends, and create these visually engaging pages within. My background in graphic design has grown my appreciation for editorial layout, typography, and branding, improving my zeal for magazine publishing and promotion. I am very eager to develop my skills in editorial design, marketing, and digital media, with the goal of contributing to fashion publishing.

This was just my way of representing all my colours together with a pattern.

Using only my first name, especially in a minimalist style, suggests I value simplicity and elegance. It also shows i’m not relying on extra frills or embellishments to make an impression—i’ve let my name speak for itself.

Clarity and Confidence

The full stop at the end signify’s that I am clear about who I am and what I stand for. It convey’s confidence, like saying, “This is me—no questions asked.”

This is how my personal branding looks in use. Here i’ve used it as my profile picture and posted some stories/posts.

‘Sabrina

Carpenter Owns The New Versace Biggie Moment’

“I am thrilled to have Sabrina and Alexandre join our Versace family in their fabulous Biggie glasses. From Notorious BIG to the extraordinary talent of today, the Biggie community are rebels, groundbreakers and champions of the true Versace spirit,” says Donatella Versace.

The reason i have chosen this campaign is because wanted to emphasise how important is it when choosing who to partner up with. You need to take in the popularity and fame aspect alot and make sure you choose someone who has the same values in mind as your brand. This campaign went live on the 09th of December 2024. It was there most recent campaigns following there spring/summer 2024 collection hit Milan’s runway. Using Sabrina also presents a sense of woman power and feminity.

Concept

In my opinion, this was a very well thought campaign as Sabrina has recently had an uprise in popularity with her recent songs “Taste” and “Please, Please, Please”. Due to her being a very newly upcoming artist, Versace have done a good job with using her for their campaign as she attracts a very different audience to what they will have had before. During the interview with VOGUE, Sabrina also mentioned how she had been a fan of Versace and Donatella for as long as she can remember. She also states how mainly Donatella’s clothing makes her feel very feminine as if they know the woman body.

Campaign video

The video is shown on Versace’s tiktok account. The video uses a few sounds but not a song. Sabrina is just walking slowing while the camera is focusing on zooming into the sunglasses including the refelection in them. The reflection seems to be two girls sat in a bath together in a very open empty room. This gives a luxury/urban feel to it having Sabrina be the new face of the brand. She is combining timeless elegance and contemporary energy that promises to re-define the codes of fashion.

campaign analysis

“I love wearing Biggie sunglasses, they are my go-to accessory for any occasion. They represent so much more than just sunglasses and I am so excited to be a part of this community”
- Sabrina Carpenter

I have chosen to talk about Robert Wun who is a London based fashion designer. He grew up in Hong Kong and was often fascinated with creativity in his earlier life before being a designer. He moved to London to study at the London College of Fashion which helped him develop a like for including sculptural elements in fashion. After graduation, he launched his own label in 2014 which is when he started to gain recognition by people and other designers. He grew most of his social awareness when designers realised he was really good at transforming garments into lovely fashion wear. That’s when his social presence became popular starting with stylists, fashion insiders and celebrity’s following him. Robert completed his first runway show at Paris Fashion Week in January 2023 where he presented a collection that showed his growth and development. His work attention was most active during the late 2010’s just after being a freelancer for two years. I really like his work as within most of his designs he combines fashion with sculpture elements, storytelling visions and natural forms. His work to me also shows a sense of character as they’re very unusual designs. In particular, my favourite designs that he has done were creating the ‘four layers of the human body’ during his Fall/Winter 2024 couture collection ‘Time’. The art behind designing these, I could imagine, took so long as the outcomes are so perfect. In my eyes Robert Wun’s designs are heavily influenced by his fascination towards nature and futurism. Nature is often portrayed within the fragility of his designs which I think creates a metaphor to how fragile nature can be and how it needs our help. People don’t really understand how in-depth nature is and this is shown through the pure detail in his designs. Futurism is a theme that I think has become very popular within the fashion world recently. Robert’s work shows some exploration into futurism by his modernity approach. He uses a lot of silhouettes as a starting point to his final designs which help with his outfit layering. Wun has a signature pleating technique which he introduced to create wave like patterns on the clothing as the model walks to mimic the movement of natural forms in the wind. In my opinion this design idea was brilliant and has become his most iconic idea so far. An example of this technique done well would be in the Fall/Winter 2024 Couture Collection ‘Time’ where he designed flesh of the human body. Watching the show, you can see how the fabric looks as the model walks. The legacy of Robert Wun will continue for a long time within the futurism and natural forms in fashion. He has shown you can really push the boundaries in fashion using different forms. Also, he is trying to engage with designers to show how much better it is to use sustainability in fashion. This designer resonates with me as I love his idea of bringing a gender natural idea into designing. Almost as if the designs are that good, any gender should be able to pull them off. Another factor I love about him is how inspiring it is for him to have come all the way from Hong Kong to London just for education. Seeing as London is only a few hours away, he has really made me feel like there is an opportunity for everyone who is willing to put in the work.

This peice was one of my favourites due to the movement of the fabrics. Its a great example of his wave technique.

Fall/Winter 2024 Couture Collection ‘Time’

The detailing of this garment is beautiful. I love how he also included a silhouette before adding the fabric.

He also has included the natural form elements in form of butterflys. This creates the sense of nature and futurism.

Here are some examples of my favourite looks from this specific collection.
