IN-PERSON CAMPS Adventures @ Ardenwood

Spend some of your summer at Ardenwood Historic Farm - a screen-free environment (nowadays, a two-week session away from computers all day could be a good thing)! George and Clara, owners of the now historic Patterson House, had Excellent Adventures visiting many places in the United States and saw many lands. Learn art, games and music from the places the Patterson’s witnessed firsthand, from Chicago to India to China. Enjoy outdoor fun and hands-on learning, engage in activities like nature walks, science investigations, group games, creative dramatics and puppetry, art projects and much more! Bring lunch, snacks, water and sunscreen. Enjoy the present as we explore the past at Ardenwood Historic Farm. Our final camp groups (pods) will be designated on the first day by family units / age of campers.

Tiny Tots Preschool Summer Enrichment

Tiny Tots Children will grow and explore in a fun and enriching preschool experience through a curriculum of activities promoting social, emotional, and intellectual growth. In each class, children will participate in dramatics, motor movement, arts and crafts and indoor/outdoor play. Children must be toilet-trained. Bring a snack to all classes. AQUATICS & SWIMMING AQUATIC CAMPS Aqua Camp

Aqua Camp pairs aquatic activities with games, and arts and crafts to keep your kids active and engaged this summer. Each week this summer will have a fun and exciting theme to go along with lunch, snack, and camp t-shirt. Trained lifeguards on duty at all times. Participants must be comfortable in the water. Life jackets will be provided, with a heavy emphasis on water safety.

Extended Care is now offered ONLY for Aqua Camp. (PLEASE NOTE: All attractions will be available for the summer.)

Aqua Camp Extended Care

Extended Care is only for participants enrolled in Aqua Camp at Aqua Adventure Waterpark. Extended care is an option for parents who need care for their children from 3:00-6:00 p.m. A variety of NON WATER activities will be provided as well as a snack. Get HANDS-ON experience as a Junior Lifeguard! Learn and practice basic lifeguard and first aid skills. Learn how to recognize potential hazards, prevent accidents, respond to emergencies and aid in swim lessons. Participants successfully passing this class will be well on their way to becoming a future lifeguard and are eligible to volunteer in the Water Safety Department at Aqua Adventure Waterpark. Junior Golf Camp

With years of experience in Junior Golf Camps, our instructors/assistants provide a fun atmosphere for learning golf swing fundamentals, sportsmanship, rules and etiquette. By the end of camp, your child will know how to play golf safely with noticeable improvement. Registration includes NCGA membership for all students into the YOUTH ON COURSE program. If you need to rent clubs, please contact the golf course directly at 510-320-5333 to make necessary arrangements. Equipment fee of $25 per week, is due at the course the first day of camp. Please note: Full day campers play the course daily from about 1-2:30 p.m. and should bring a lunch. Bring water and wear sunscreen.

Treat your child to a fun adventure through dance! It’s a Trolls dance camp.

Kids will explore dance using the soundtrack from the movie, Trolls. Kids will create arts and craft project related to the theme of the movie. This fun and vibrant camp will be your child’s “Happy Place” packed with fitness, friends, crafts, and imaginative games. Bring a snack, and a bottled water.

Camp Pac West invites your children to experience our gymnastics camps, with fun for ages 5 to 11. Camp Re-Imagine - Outdoor Summer Camp

Camp Re-imagine offers kids a different theme each camp week that encourages their own self-expression and inner creativity. Kids will explore re-imaginable fun ways to be creative in a social-distanced outdoor environment. Kids will experience individual fun fitness and play, mindfulness in nature, skit writing, story telling, dramatics, trivia games, arts and crafts, and drawing activities all done in a safe space surrounded by nature. Bring to camp each day a non-refrigerated lunch, 2 snacks, 2 bottled water, a hat, and sunglasses. Bring sunscreen to re-apply throughout the day. Wear a hat, tennis shoes, and comfortable clothing each day. With COVID-19 protocols in place, this camp provides a safe atmosphere for your child to learn and grow this summer.

Junior Programmers Camp

Learn to create your first programs using Scratch Jr.! Start with making a character dance to producing a full simulated environment. In this introductory sequence of projects for Scratch Jr., we gradually introduce a variety of practices and concepts while simultaneously exposing young coders to a variety of blocks and tools in Scratch Jr. Each project is aligned with the algorithms and programming standards developed by the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA). Use the power of coding to create a world in Minecraft never seen before!

In this block-based coding course, students will learn how to concentrate on logic and computational thinking to build advanced programming algorithms that tie in with the world of Minecraft. Learn how to mod Minecraft, create stories, build mini-games, reconstruct buildings, and turn blocks into gold! A great addition for students who have taken our Scratch programming course. Roblox Game Design Camp

Learn how to create your own Roblox Games and publish them for others to play! You will use Roblox Studio to create obstacle courses and story and adventure games to collect and sell items. After a few days of guided tutorials, you will be free to invent and build a game of your own design.

You will become an expert at navigating 3D space. Design and manipulate elements to create the environment you imagine! You will use the Lua programming language to define the rules and mechanics of your games.

Math Olympiad stimulates a student’s love for math while introducing and sharpening analytical skills. Featuring challenging word problems from previous Math Olympiad tests, our ongoing Math Olympiad Series is designed to help students strengthen math intuition and master creative problem solving strategies. Participants will learn the art of telling a character’s story through pictures, illustrations and speech bubbles. LEGO Masters Competition

Join other LEGO fans in learning new design techniques and creating your own LEGO masterpieces. Begin with a teacher-led daily workshop on building and design techniques. You’ll then be presented with a mystery project to build, just like the TV show, LEGO Masters. The atmosphere is encouraging and fun. Our teacher will provide tips and you’ll then have 30 minutes to create your masterpiece using the LEGOs you have at home.

At the end of the session, everyone presents their creation, and students will privately vote for the project they like the most. Sort your LEGOs beforehand.

VIRTUAL CAMPS Minecraft Castle Quest

Explore a custom Minecraft world full of mysteries, challenges, and the Ender Dragon! A teacher guides students as they work together to save a village from powerful monsters and a clever Wizard who hides in the dark castle. The teacher coaches the team to successfully complete their missions, with a focus on teambuilding, cooperation, and problem-solving.

Students must know how to play Minecraft and use the Bedrock edition of Minecraft. Get a free XBoxLive account at xbox.com needed to enter the multi-player realm. Campers must also have Zoom open during camp.

Enhance your Python skills by programming virtual robots to complete missions in 3d worlds. Missions involve coding the robot’s motors, sensors and timers, with commands, variables, conditional logic, and loops using Python. Use Python to control robot kinematics (speed and acceleration), states, obstacle avoidance/detection, and distance/angle of movement.

Virtual Robotics Coding

Learn the fundamentals of computer science and robotics by programming virtual LEGO EV3 robots to complete missions in colorful 3d worlds. CITY OF FREMONT RELEASE AGREEMENT FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS IN CONSIDERATION OF PERMISSION TO PARTICIPATE IN OR USE ANY CITY OF FREMONT (hereinafter referred to as “City”) FACILITIES IN CONNECTION WITH THIS ACTIVITY, THE PARTICIPANT AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING: 1. THE PARTICIPANT HEREBY RELEASES, WAIVES, DISCHARGES AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE THE CITY OF FREMONT, ITS EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS AND AGENTS (hereinafter referred to as “releasees”) from all liability to the participant, his or her personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin, for any loss, damage, or claim therefore on account of injury to the person, participant’s family member, or property of the participant, whether caused by any negligent act or omission of the releasees or otherwise, while the participant or participant’s family member is participating in a City activity or using any City facilities in connection with the activity. Participants of virtual recreation classes acknowledge they are responsible for ensuring their environment is safe/free from obstruction(s) and that any use of third-party applications (e.g., Zoom, Instagram, etc.) are at their own security risk.

2. T HE PARTICIPANT HEREBY AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the releasees from all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, charges, expenses, and attorney fees (including attorney fees to establish the releasees’ right to indemnify incurred on appeal) resulting from involvement in this activity, whether caused by any negligent act or omission of the releasees or otherwise.

3. THE PARTICIPANT HEREBY ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR RISK OF BODILY INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE to self or participant’s family member while upon City property or participating in the activity or using any City facilities and equipment, whether caused by any negligent act or omission of releasees or otherwise. The participant expressly agrees that the foregoing release and waiver, indemnity agreement and assumption of risk, are intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by California law and that if any portion thereof is deemed to be held invalid, notwithstanding, the balance shall continue in full legal force and effect.
