Medical School Camps are designed to cover all the material that was offered in the Winter Session 1 and 2 along with additional curriculum. The interactive games will peak every student’s curiosity as they explore the inner workings of the human body through age appropriate activities. Along with specific lessons, there are special study breaks which include games, exercises, the importance of good health and many more topics. Little Programmers

Code for Fun’s Little Programmers class is Child’s First Robot 2.0.

This is no ordinary wind-up toy, No, as this toy will not start marching with the flick of the “on” switch!. Instead, your child will learn sequencing, estimation, problem solving and will have fun programming their new Robot friend to do exactly what they program it to do. In fact, your child will learn how to program Bee-Bot Robots to solve puzzles that they will design themselves! They will use counting and the alphabet to program and send their Robots on fun adventures like: Getting around and out of a maze and moving through and finishing an obstacle course. Your children will be taught early concepts of computer science and critical thinking, or the ability to use information and skills in a variety of ways in order to solve problems.

Bootstrap (Game Design)

MATH + CODING = YOUR OWN GAME. If you have done some block programming and are ready to try real coding, this program is for you! However, no previous coding experience is required.

Bootstrap teaches algebraic and geometry concepts through computer programming (Racket Code). At the end of the camp, students have a complete workbook filled with word problems, notes and math challenges, as well as a video game of their own design, which they can share with friends and family. Students will also learn image editing in order to personalize their characters in the game. This class is specifically designed for students who enjoy problem solving, math and creating games.

We also balance the time with other activities related to computer science that we can do outside (race coding) so the students have some off-screen time.

This week of discovery introduces kids to all facets of science. Explore the science of the sea and the fascinating creatures that live there. Campers become paleontologists by searching for fossils and participating in a mini dinosaur dig. We become bubbleologists as we learn about the science of bubbles! Did you know that training in acting improves language and memory skills? The world of theater is educational as well as an exciting and magnificent place for young actors! In this camp, your child will learn to be more self-confident, assured and creative through dramatics, games, and participatory experience! This performing arts program is formulated to foster inclusion, promote respect for each camper’s abilities and to present an opportunity for children to develop their skills in an enriching, non-competitive environment. Each week offers a NEW theme/script and each week the group will engage in all aspects of theater-script notes, costuming, stage work and props, and much more! At the end of camp, actors will perform for parents, family and friends the final day of camp.

Participants will create usable ceramics items, using their hands to manipulate and mold the clay. Campers will also dig in the dirt to grow their very own plant in their creative ceramic container. An extension of the City of Fremont Recreation Services Children’s Repertory Theater, this Little Theater Camp will give children a positive introduction to all aspects of theater. During the week, campers will experience a stress-less audition, learn how to move onstage, how to wait for their cue, the importance of projection, and how to creatively move and perform in front of an audience.

Younger actors will spend class time learning lines, stage direction, and stage voice and will perform for parents and family at the end of the week.

This camp is packed with a ton of games, crafts, sports, science experiments, storytelling, songs to keep the 7-11 year olds very busy and active during this spring break from school. A great sneak preview of summer camp fun happening in spring time! This program will be indoors/outdoors weather permitting. Please bring a lunch.

The Junior Ranger Camp is being offered as a prelude to our ever popular Jr Ranger summer camp program! Instructed by our very own Central Park Rangers, students will participate in a variety of hands on activities that encourage environmental appreciation and safety during any outdoor experience. This camp highlights themes of three of the Junior Ranger Summer Camps. 1) Where the Wild Things Are, 2) Raiders of the Lost Artifact, 3) Book of Badges. Some of the course material each day is based on the California State Education Standards, with an emphasis on natural science, local history, ecology, bio-diversity, and general outdoor concepts. Indoor Sports Jam is the perfect way to spend time with your friends! ISJ is a Full Day or Half Day option sports camp and is a fun way to play a variety of sports with friends throughout the day and to meet new friends, while jammin’ to music! Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, Soccer, Kickball, Baseball, and Dodgeball are just some of the sports we will play. Come enjoy the weeks of great sports fun with our friendly staff! Children are split up by ages and skill level. We will also have an arts ‘n’ craft portion of the day and watch a movie for about 30 mins/per day/per AM and PM session.

Bring a snack for the AM and PM, along with a lunch if you are attending the Full Day. Don’t forget your water, and don’t miss out on hangin’ with your friends! Wear athletic clothing and shoes. Please note: this camp will have indoor and outdoor activities.

How will your child spend their Spring Break? Have them spend it with us. The Ultimate Sports Camp is held at Central Park, which allows us to utilize everything that the park has to offer, to put together a fantastic learning experience for all campers. Ultimate Sports Camp is best suited for beginner to intermediate level campers, but our staff has the necessary experience and training to challenge campers of all ability levels. Staff will teach traditional sports and non-traditional games that improve coordination and cardio fitness. For the younger age group, the camp is an introduction to T-Ball, Soccer, Hockey, Flag Football and Basketball. Our junior campers will be taught the basic skills of each sport through games and practice drills. Most importantly, kids will meet new friends and have fun. All equipment is provided. Bring a water bottle, and wear appropriate athletic shoes. There are no extended care options for the half day camp. Full day campers may enroll in Central Park Extended Care from 3:00-6:30PM. With years of experience in Junior Golf Camps, our instructors and assistants provide a fun atmosphere for learning the golf swing fundamentals, sportsmanship, rules and etiquette. By the end of camp, your child will know how to play golf safely and with noticeable improvement. Registration includes NCGA membership for all students into the YOUTH ON COURSE program. If you need to rent clubs, please contact the golf course directly at 510-790-1919 to make necessary arrangements. Club rentals are available for $25 per week. Providing Expert guidance for beginner, intermediate and advanced skateboarders; safety is a top priority throughout our fun-filled days activities. WAYF: World At Your Feet – Photo Portfolio for Jr.’s

This class will provide students with a superior understanding of camera controls, and how to use them to make the best images. We will create images for use in computer displays, tablets, and smartphones. Students will create prints using pro-quality photo printers.

The final class will be an ART SHOW of student work. Classes will emphasize activity, taking pictures, artistic image composition, subject exploration, getting coaching, downloading pictures to computers and printing them in class. This program will also reference practical applications of mathematics and geometry components of Common Core State Standards (CCSS), with California additions.

This fault is one of 10 active faults in the world actually creeping at 5 mm/year. The tour and explores dramatic faulting effects in both natural and urban environments. View the floor of a building that reveals dramatic evidence of this fault activity. This 2 hour class will be geared towards players who want to compete and excel at the high school level. This class will involve advanced drills, such as shot production, footwork, game strategies, and more. Since this is an advanced class, students should have some prior training in badminton. The student should already be able to serve, have some knowledge of footwork and technique, and be able to hit the birdie consistently. The first hour and a half will consist of drills, strength conditioning, and technique training, while the last half hour will consist of gameplay with coach guidance. Lacrosse has been called the fastest game on two feet. So come check out the fastest growing sport in the United States. The Fremont Lacrosse Academy provides a fun and instructive course that has been designed by Santa Clara University Lacrosse Coach Greg Mengis. Coach Mengis and his certified and experienced group of lacrosse instructors will coach the academy participants to help develop fundamental lacrosse skills such as passing, catching, shooting, and scooping ground balls. Lacrosse Academy is a great way to try out the game for the first time, or to warm up your skills to prep for the spring lacrosse seasons! This course is for both boys and girls, and all basic equipment is provided. Players will also receive a Fremont Lacrosse T-shirt to keep for their participation.

CANCELLATIONS The Community Services Department reserves the right to cancel a class for any reasonable cause. Should this happen, your fee will be refunded in full or you may transfer to any open class.

NON-RESIDENT FEES For persons not residing in Fremont, the fee is $5 in addition to the published fee per class.

SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT Seniors (Ages 60+) receive a 10% discount on all classes except those designated for seniors.

Requests for withdrawals/transfers must be made in writing via email, fax, in person, or our online form.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The City of Fremont and many local business and organizations have funded a grant program, which provides financial assistance for Fremont Residents. For information regarding eligibility for reduced fees, please call (510) 494-4300.
