Space for Us All, Indeed!

This past summer was quite busy with another successful Summer Library Club, “Space for Us All” which was enjoyed by more than 2,000 patrons! We also had a change at the helm of the library. After 20 years of service, Library Director Scott Davis retired on June 30. Becky Ingram has been serving as Interim Director during the director search, which should be completed by the end of October.

This past spring the library embarked on a remodel to re-carpet most of the library and to transform the formerly walled-off “shell” space on the second floor into a vibrant public space with a spectacular view and new seating areas. Work continued in August to finish the carpeting and bring the fiction books upstairs to unite all of the books for adults on one floor. When the work is complete, the teens and middle schoolers will have their own spaces on the first floor, with expanded areas for the early primary grades as well. Expanded and improved spaces to read, study, eat, learn, and have fun will encourage us all to use our library for all it has to offer. Please join us for a celebration on Sunday, Oct. 15 from 2:00 to 4:00pm!
