Elsewhere in the world, the US government shut down is beginning to affect the supply chain on a global scale. Shippers also remain concerned as the backlog of problems and delays increases, with a staggering effect on the supply chain. Cross-border shipments are particularly affected because of border staff shortages, and compounding these issues is the introduction of new tariffs and screening procedures. But some good news for state-side industry has been that the price of diesel is continuing to fall, now at its 13th consecutive week of doing so.
