Ladies and gentlemen, our fellow members and officers of the Rotary clubs of Narvacan and All our Rotary partners in the world of Rotary Service- all our fellow Rotarians of the different Rotary clubs of our District, District 3790, esteemed guests, good evening
As I stand before you today, I am both humbled and honored to address you as the President-elect of the Rotary Club of Narvacan for the second term, marking the beginning of the Rotary Year 2023-2024 under the theme "Create Hope in the World."
What an incredible journey it has been, one that I could not have foreseen when I first joined this remarkable organization When I first set foot into the Rotary Club of Narvacan, little did I know that this path would lead me to serve as your President not once but now twice I must admit, I had envisioned myself as an ordinary member, contributing in my own modest way Yet, life often takes us on unexpected paths, and here I stand, committed to the ideals of Rotary, to the spirit of "Service Above Self"
The support and camaraderie I have received from each of you have been nothing short of exceptional In a world that demands so much from us, it is heartwarming to witness the unwavering dedication of our members, even as I assumed the role of Acting Mayor or Vice mayor of our beloved municipality Balancing the responsibilities of a public servant and a Rotarian has been no small feat, but your encouragement and understanding have been my driving force
I'd like to extend my deepest gratitude to each member of our Rotary Club for standing by my side, especially during the challenging times we faced, such as the aftermath of Typhoon Egay Together, we proved that when the community calls for aid, Rotary answers with unity, resilience, and compassion Reflecting on my journey within this club, I'm reminded of the profound changes that have taken place From being a Sangguniang Member of our municipality to assuming the role of Vice Mayor and now being inducted as the President of the Rotary Club for the second time while also serving as the Acting Mayor– it's a testament to the twists and turns that life offers us with.
Rotary's values have remained a constant guiding light throughout. As I take on this dual role, I am confident that my civic responsibilities are being fulfilled because of the strength of our collective efforts
The theme for this year, "Create Hope in the World," resonates deeply with our mission It reminds us that even in the face of challenges, we have the power to inspire hope, uplift lives, and make a lasting impact. The Seven Areas of Focus that define Rotary – from promoting peace and fighting disease to providing clean water and supporting education to promoting economic development and providing maternal and child care, and to an environmentally friendly community continue to shape our endeavors and inspire our actions In conclusion, let us move forward with renewed enthusiasm and unwavering commitment We are here for one common purpose: ALL FOR THE LOVE OF SERVICE Together, we will make a difference in the lives of those we serve, standing as a beacon of hope and change within our community I look forward to this journey, knowing we are driven by our shared commitment to "Service Above Self."
At the end of the day, we are not judged by our position or the social status we built but by the number of lives we touched That is what will define us as Humans Thank you, my fellow Rotarians, for your trust, support, and friendship Let us continue to uphold Rotary's legacy, shaping a brighter future for Narvacan and beyond
Thank you and God. Bless us all.
