Kick Off Activity Kick Off Activity
The Rotary Club of Narvacan joined the simultaneous kick-off activity of District 3790 for the RY 2024-2025 through its 'Love our Elderly Project' on July 1, 2023, at Brgy Tangaoan Sta Maria, Ilocos Sur This project aligns with DG Ariel Jersey's goal to spread Rotary's magic by doing service projects under Rotary's seven areas of focus
Many elderly people live on limited incomes, and, unfortunately, they must often choose between paying medical expenses, medicine, or groceries. Some seniors also have little to no family support and face serious medical issues Others also need more mobility or are homebound; thus, access to nutritious food is imperative for survival. It enables seniors to maintain a healthy lifestyle and remain independent, often making our elderly sad and in low spirits
With this project, RC Narvacan made the senior beneficiaries feel essential and recognized for the love and care they once gave After working their entire lives, seniors must meet their basic needs while maintaining dignity and independence
Through this project, the elderly beneficiaries received nutritious food packs, hygiene kits, other daily necessities, and medicines for their health sustenance.
As part of the project, a heartwarming program was organized Rotarians had the privilege of conversing with our elderly beneficiaries while serving them the food they had prepared This personal touch made the experience more meaningful for the beneficiaries and the Rotarians
The 'Love our Elderly Project' is a testament to RC Narvacan's commitment to supporting older people in the community The Club's mission is to let the elderly beneficiaries feel they can live their days with nutritious meals and the comfort of knowing they are never alone because, apart from their families, there are also Rotarians who love and care for them
