South Seas conjures images of relaxing, tranquil days. Whenever I find myself in a situation where I feel anxious—say, in the dentist’s chair, as happened recently—I close my eyes and imagine myself floating on a Lilo in calm, flat waters just off the shoreline of a remote tropical island in the Pacific. Squinting through warm sunbeams, I see the waves gently lapping at the fine white sand on the shoreline. Beyond the beach, graceful, tall palm trees filter the wafting, soft sounds of rhythmic island music from a nearby village. I drift closer; an islander is wading in the shallows in my direction. He greets me with a beaming smile and an outstretched arm, offering me a drink. I sigh in delight—it’s one of life’s special moments! From a bamboo straw, I sip the cool, refreshing, sweet milk from a freshly cut coconut.
