This issue focuses on suicide awareness and stories of hope. We knew that the 20th anniversary of the harrowing events that unfolded on 9/11/2001 was drawing near—many would be in a place of remorse, grief, feelings of loss and with that possible suicide ideation. We highlight two incredible LeadHERs, Dr. Diandra Poe and Lindsey Knapp—who are slaying the advocacy game and helping our sisters obtain justice. We learn about the real-life wonder woman, Ellen Brennan; Helpful tips on transitioning to civilian life, joining the VFW as a woman and so much more!
Then on August 26, 2021, 13 members of the U.S. military were killed during an attack at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan—two of them sisters-in-arms.
Marine Corps Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo, 25, of Lawrence, Mass.
Marine Corps Sgt. Nicole L. Gee, 23, of Sacramento, Calif.
We publish this month's magazine in their honor—Til Valhalla.
