Smoothie In A Bowl

You’ve probably had a smoothie and maybe even make them regularly. But have you ever made a smoothie bowl? It’s a great variation on a classic and is an easy way to load extra nutrition into your day. You can make a smoothie bowl in a re-sealable container or even in a mason jar with a lid and take it for a power snack to school or work. Smoothie bowls are also ideal for after workouts! The ingredients in a properly concocted smoothie bowl have a healthy balance of protein, carbohydrate, and fiber. Protein digests more slowly and helps satisfy your hunger for hours after you eat; it also Caitlin Larson rebuilds muscles and tissues. The carbohydrate from fruit and yogurt is digested more quickly, Registered Dietitian giving you a more immediate energy boost. Fiber slows digestion and promotes a healthy intestinal tract while helping maintain steady blood sugar levels. Choose your yogurt base: Lactose intolerant? No problem! Pick a soy based yogurt like SO Delicious or a lactoseremoved yogurt. Pick a fruit: banana, peach, pineapple, kiwi, apple, berries (try frozen!)
