MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dr. Stephen H. Kolison, Jr.

This annual publication provides an overview of faculty scholarly activities during the past 12 months. This past year, as a result of the global pandemic, Fredonia faculty were constrained in their efforts to engage students in their scholarly work and to participate in professional conferences.

Notwithstanding the many pandemic induced constraints, the number of publications and artistic productions highlighted in this publication is a clear demonstration of the commitment of the faculty at SUNY Fredonia to advancing learning, searching, creativity, innovation and service. It is very impressive what they were able to achieve in such an unprecedented year.

I am proud and thankful for their work and commitment to fulfilling the mission of the university. And, I hope that you will find this publication to be valuable to your interests and endeavors.

Dr. Kevin Kearns

As this publication demonstrates, faculty at the State University of New York at Fredonia are actively engaged in their professions as researchers, scholars, and creative artists and performers.

They produce scientific inquiry, scholarly analysis and critique, artistic expression, and community-based research in the arts, business, education, and the natural sciences.

They have represented Fredonia in the pages of books and articles, at the podiums of national and international conferences, on stages and in galleries around the world. They bring that spirit of inquiry and creative expression to their work as teachers, inspiring our students with their passion for their discipline, and often involving students in their research, scholarship, and creative activity.

I hope that this publication, which we intend to publish annually, will serve as public recognition of their hard work.
