About t he Keynot e Speaker Dr. Shaun Nelms is a dist inguished aut hor and a prominent figure in educat ion and leadership development . He is current ly serving as t he Vice President for Communit y Part nerships at t he Universit y of Rochest er. In t his new role, Dr. Nelms will be responsible for developing an act ionable plan for cult ivat ing and st ewarding product ive collaborat ions in support of t he Universit y?s new st rat egic plan.

Dr. Nelms is known for his groundbreaking cont ribut ions t o educat ion t ransformat ion.

Not ably, he led t he t ransformat ion of t he lowest - performing school in New York St at e's most challenged school, East Upper and Lower Schools, as it s superint endent . Under Dr. Nelms' visionary leadership, t he graduat ion rat e soared from 29% t o an impressive 85% in just eight years, a t est ament t o his innovat ive school t ransformat ion model. This dramat ic increase in graduat ion rat es was a t est ament t o Dr. Nelms' groundbreaking research, which served as t he cornerst one for reshaping t he leadership st ruct ure and dynamics of t he East Schools, propelling t hem t o newfound height s of success and achievement .

This achievement earned him t he prest igious role of t he inaugural William and Sheila Konar Direct or for t he Cent er for Urban Educat ion Success (CUES) at t he Universit y of Rochest er's Warner School of Educat ion and Human Development , where he cont inues t o lead effort s t o improve educat ional syst ems nat ionally.

Dr. Nelms is also t he CEO of t he Nelms Consult ing Group. He provides expert guidance on administ rat ive leadership st ruct ures and syst ems, reinforcing his reput at ion as a sought - aft er aut horit y in leadership development .

Dr. Shaun Nelms is a dedicat ed educat ion visionary known for his t ransformat ive cont ribut ions and unwavering commit ment t o reshaping educat ional inst it ut ions and leadership pract ices.
