Fredrikson has a long partnership with the University of Minnesota Bankruptcy Clinic, where attorney Clint Cutler has taught for many years and was recently joined by attorney Sam Andre . This clinic offers services free of charge for disadvantaged clients with bankruptcy matters.

In a recent case handled by the clinic, Clint was joined by attorneys Katherine Nixon and Steve Kinsella to help a client diagnosed with severe mental health problems and who was unable to maintain employment. They had helped him with his bankruptcy proceedings previously, but his student loans remained a financial burden. The attorneys argued successfully that the loans constituted an undue hardship, and more than $70,000 in student loans were discharged. There is now one less burden on the client’s mental health.
