Shafer Park

At the heart of Boonsboro’s vibrant community,  Shafer Park  has long been the gathering place for recreation, celebration, and connection. Established in the mid-20th century, the park was donated by the Shafer family and has since grown into one of Boonsboro’s most cherished landmarks. Its shaded paths, open fields, and scenic stream make it a favorite destination for families and visitors alike.

From May through November, Shafer Park comes alive with events that capture the spirit of small-town life — including the weekly Boonsboro Farmers Market, a lively Summer Concert Series, and Outdoor Movie Nights under the stars. The park is also home to some of Boonsboro’s most beloved annual traditions, such as the Boonsboro Carnival, Boonsborough Days, and the Boonsboro Food Truck Festival.

In addition to its full calendar of events, Shafer Park features walking trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, and the future home of the Boonsboro Disc Golf Course, which attracts players from across the region.

Whether you’re attending a community event, taking a peaceful stroll, or enjoying a round of disc golf, Shafer Park offers a welcoming space, truly making it the heart and soul of Boonsboro.
