DEPARTMENT UPDATE ROLLING OUT THE WELCOME WAGON What One Word Describes You Best? by Erin Ball, Operations Manager

So long to the saying “it is so nice to put a face to the name!”! As the FRED family grows, so do our initiatives to make sure that we never lose the family feeling that we’ve all grown to love. A new initiative you may have seen in your inbox is the introduction of new FRED employees! All new hires and internal promotions (Property Manager (+) and all corporate employees) going forward will be introduced this way. Be sure to give a warm welcome next time you see them!

After graduating from UW-Milwaukee I completed an AmeriCorps year and then returned to Milwaukee to work as an Associate Residence Hall Coordinator. My most recent position prior to coming to FRED was as a Leasing Consultant with Weidner Apartment Homes.

I chose FRED because of the opportunity to work for a Milwaukee based company and its mission-driven approach to management.

Waukesha, WI My favorite pastimes are antique/thrift shopping, rollerblading, and checking out Milwaukee’s breweries.

What Makes Them Shine The Woodlands was built in 2015 and is made up of mostly one and two bedroom apartment homes along with nine townhomes. The 153unit apartment community is in a quaint and convenient location in Menomonee Falls. It is nestled in a woodsy atmosphere, complete with its own small pond out front where, on occasion, you can even catch a glimpse of turtles strolling by. Just a quick walk across the street, you will find two

hidden gems yet famous to Menomonee Falls: a wine bar with patio seating and Ally’s Bistro, where you can enjoy live jazz music weekly. The team includes Karla Campanelli, Property Manager, Jessica Kelly and Cortez Killen, Leasing Professionals, Dylan Winslow, Utility Tech, and Jamaine Singleton, Housekeeping. This entire team has worked hard through Covid-19 and the beginning of 2021 to reach a full and thriving community, and holding!

I'm really looking forward to sunshine, warm weather, and spending as much time as I can outside this summer kayaking, hiking, and watching races at Road America with friends. I'm also really excited to start traveling again after what feels like forever! My fiancé, Cody, and I are going to New York City for the first time in July and are planning to go to Mexico after our wedding this fall. I love all the summer festivals, farmers markets, and concerts in Milwaukee, so I'm really happy that some of these will be back this year, too.

Congratulations, Sarah and Richard!

ABOUT JUNETEENTH DAY *Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, symbolizes the end of slavery and commemorates the reading of President Abraham Lincoln’s General Order #3 on June 19, 1865 in Texas, which announced the freeing of slaves. Last year FRED celebrated Juneteenth with an early release day dedicated to self-guided education and reading on Black history and current issues. The date was then added to our official annual paid holiday schedule.

SPOTLIGHT! April Winner

ANDREA HOVEY Manchester Oaks | Marketing & Leasing Manager

During all the heavy snow falls this past winter, Andrea made it a priority to make sure that any of our seniors that parked their vehicles outside were cleaned up for them. Then she found out the Ford dealership made one of our senior residents walk back and forth across Hwy 100 while repairs were being made to her car, so Andrea spoke to the GM to assure us this would never happen again. She actually drove this same resident back over to the dealership once her car was ready. Andrea shows so much compassion for our residents in many other ways, just like this example. She is instrumental as to why we have such high retention here!
