LETTER FROM MICHAEL DEPARTMENT UPDATE
PG 2 FRED FAMILY UPDATE
PG 3
First of all, I wanted to personally thank each and every one of you. Without you we would not be the great company that we are. Each of you is critical to the success of FRED. We all have different roles and responsibilities, but let me stress that not one of them is more important than the other. We are all pieces of a puzzle and when we put those pieces together it forms a beautiful picture. That picture is the face of FRED. It’s so exciting to be part of a fast paced and growing company and it gives me joy

to watch people grow within the company. With our growth there will be numerous opportunities for you to advance within the company. I am so proud of and thankful for the people that I have had the opportunity to work with on a daily basis. I have both learned and will continue to learn from each of you. Thank you for tolerating and forgiving me for the mistakes I have made over the years. Remember none of us are perfect. It is ok to make mistakes as long as we learn from them. Please remember that it’s so important we value and respect each other on a daily basis. Remember if you are having a bad day, you can start over at any time. My Christmas Wish list for FRED is that as a company we continue to put people first, as we have done over all the years I’ve been at FRED. When we collaborate and work together as a team we are able to accomplish great things!
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
EMPLOYEE ANNOUNCEMENTS

DEPARTMENT UPDATE What’s new in a department near you?
THE DESIGN DEPARTMENT MAKING STUNNING SPACES WITH HOLLY Holly La Londe, Designer, is responsible for creating and updating public spaces, models and corporate rentals in all of the Fiduciary properties. Her team includes herself and Maddie Clausen, a Design Intern in the Interior Design Program at Mt. Mary. Holly’s job consists of assessing property needs and recommending fabrics, finishes, accessories, furniture, color, lighting and other design elements that can be combined to suit needs of each property and its residents. These recommendations are presented to team members using design boards and cost estimates. When a property’s design is enhanced, its marketability improves. Holly’s skills also include negotiating for premium pricing on behalf of the company. She will review bids from sub-contractors and sales persons to make recommendations on how to save money in design and redesign. Holly also regularly meets and brainstorms with new development teams to plan new construction.
“When a property’s design is enhanced, its marketability improves.”

FRED FAMILY UPDATE BRITTANY LEITING - FAMILY. FRIENDS. PACKERS. Taking Life One “Brittany Day” At A Time This month we’re featuring a ‘slice of life’ from Brittany Leiting, Assistant Property Manager at Creekwood Apartments. True to her Green Bay home, Brittany is a Packers fan and loves her friends and team members. “My two best friends are Kate and Cody. I enjoy coming to Creekwood to work with them!,” she said. “The things I enjoy outside of the office are of course hanging out with my kids, playing boardgames and cards with them,” she said. “I love the Packers and going to games, and online shopping, but not going actual shopping.” Brittany works hard for residents and staff, but also understands the benefits of some well-deserved self-care.
My two best friends are Kate and Cody. I enjoy coming to Creekwood to work with them! “I enjoy getting a break when I can to relax if I do not have my kids.” Living the life of an average Wisconsin gal, Brittany maintains a routine of cleaning the house and laundry on Sundays.
“Every Saturday I take a ‘Brittany day’ to unwind from the week and watch shows “I am a pretty boring person but I that I missed during the week,” she said. love it!,” she said.

WHAT MAKES THEM SHINE Located in the heart of Fitchburg, Valley View’s landscaping and upkeep of apartments and common areas is especially impressive. Because of their team’s strength and dedication, residents consistently rave about the ongoing events that keep them engaged and feeling at home. Most recently, the property had a community garage sale where residents were encouraged to donate items to sell. All proceeds were used to purchase gifts for children in the community for the holidays, and all unsold items were donated to St. Vincent de Paul. This event was a huge success and continued to bolster the strong sense of community at Valley View. The team will have completed 32 apartment remodels by the end of 2019. With just 31 remaining, all 315 apartment homes will be newly remodeled by the 1st quarter of 2020!

Assistant Property Manager, Riverwood Q: What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?
Meet some of our fantastic team members!
Christmas Eve. We spend the day with my oldest son and his family decorating dozens of cookies - all five kids, from our 3-year-old to my 15-year-old. Then we drop off all the cookies at church for the after service gathering. At home we open gifts, have dinner and get ready for Christmas Eve service. It’s a wonderful family day for all the kids. Q: If you could tour with any band, which would you choose and why? Jimmy Buffett. I love his care-free island lifestyle. Q: When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? The Western family likes to take a walk around the neighborhood to look at all the Christmas lights after Christmas dinner. Pictured is my son Michael waiting (not so patiently) to eat.
Every year since our Daughter was 2 years old (she is 16 now) we have gone to cut down our Christmas tree. After we cut down the tree, which usually takes about two hours by the time we get out there and all agree on a tree we then go out for pizza to celebrate our tree.

On my mom’s side of the family, the Calderon’s, we have Mexican food for Christmas, instead of the typical ham, turkey, etc. The Sunday before Christmas, we get together and make homemade tamales to share along with our homemade dishes.

In my family ever since I was a little girl I have always helped my grandma bake cookies. They would get stored away in ice cream buckets and brought out on Christmas Eve after dinner. Now that my grandparents are both gone, I still carry on this tradition with my kids (who are grown now) and my mom. I use the same recipe cards with her hand writing; but rather than those ice cream buckets, we deliver them to all of the aunts, uncles, cousins and friends! This way we all still get to have a little bit of grandma with us every Christmas Eve.
