WELCOME Happy New Year! It's been great to see new residents continuing to move into their homes at Minnippi Quarter over the past few weeks.

We announced some great news last month with the appointment of Pete and Di, your new MQ Caretakers. This wonderful team bring with them a wealth of knowledge in successfully managing communities, as well as a genuine passion to support a thriving lifestyle for all of the residents at MQ. They already have so many wonderful ideas to bring the community together.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

We have reached another important milestone for the MQ community with the announcement of your new body corporate committee. We're very lucky to have so many enthusiastic residents nominating to be part of such an important group within the community. It has been agreed that a member of the Frasers Property team will remain on the board to represent the interests of those residents who are yet to settle. Your body corporate committee will provide further updates in the coming weeks.

Firstly, we of course would like to acknowledge the recent flood event here in Brisbane, one that has had devastating effects on so many in SEQ. Although there was major flooding on Fursden Road, we are pleased to see that the storm water and flood design work as intended at MQ. We have had minimal leaks through the completed homes, with this event a great test for the quality of the build process. It was really wonderful to see the community strength during this time, with updates and support being shared on the Resident Facebook Page, thank you to all who were so helpful in this space.

On the construction front, we continue to work through ongoing delays related to COVID-19 and flood impacts, with their unprecedented effects on the construction industry. As always, our focus remains on ensuring our contractor delivers the highest quality homes for all residents at settlement time. We are staging settlements across Release Three, now 50% settled, with a view to have the entire precinct settled by early April. Release Four is currently scheduled to settle mid-year.

You would have noticed the community signage which was installed last week, it's looking great and a wonderful milestone for the community.

The dog wash plans have been submitted to Brisbane City Council for review and approval, and we look forward to sharing this with the community over the coming weeks, with a view to have this constructed prior to Release Four settlements.

Easter Egg Hunt We have a wonderful resident, Lorraine Lee, who has volunteered to organise a family friendly Easter egg hunt at the MQ Parklands on Sunday, April 17. Frasers Property will sponsor the event, with a special visit from the Easter Bunny. Look out for all the details on Facebook.

UPCOMING EVENTS There are some wonderful, resident-led events coming up, creating opportunities to meet your neighbours and get to know one another. Mark these dates on your calendar and enjoy getting to know your new community.

Coffee catch-ups We have some great news for the coffee lovers at MQ, the team from Faith & Grace are excited to now be serving their delicious coffee weekly. Pat will be on site, next to the pavilion every Saturday from 7.30am to 10.30am.

Monthly BBQs It was lovely to see so many residents at the first community BBQ - and for the sun to make a special appearance. We have two lovely resident volunteers, Julia and Michael, who will be hosting our next BBQ on Saturday, March 26 at 12 noon. We'll set up a Facebook event for this moving forward, so be sure to RSVP with 'going' on the event page.

FREE fitness classes We've teamed up with a neighbouring resident, Karl Gray, to trial weekly fitness classes exclusively for MQ residents. Karl has been involved in the fitness industry for over 30 years, including the ownership and operation of his own gym. His experience spans across one-onone training, group and boot camp sessions and specialised Emergency Services personnel training. He is very passionate about helping people achieve their health and well-being goals and tailoring sessions to the needs of his client.

Initially, Frasers Property will sponsor three weekly classes for the month of March, to commence on Saturday, March 12. With the opportunity for residents to continue to motivate, meet and keep fit with one another through the remainder of the year, at a cost of $10 per person.

The circuit session will be run at the MQ Parklands each Saturday morning from 6.30am to 7.30am. And good news, the coffee van will be on hand after the session.
