Home, where memories are made. Home is such a special place in our everyday life and extends much further than our own family home. People spend more time within their local neighbourhood and build strong connections with neighbours. With new residents calling Brookhaven home every month, Frasers Property has planned many opportunities for them to meet and create unforgettable memories.

NEIGHBOURHOOD NEWS
DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
More room to roam With two parks already constructed and two more on the way, Brookhaven is continuing to deliver on providing green spaces for its residents to connect and flourish.
We are thrilled to announce that our much-loved Discovery Park has taken out the Landscape Architecture and Urban Infrastructure Award at the Logan Urban Design Awards (LUDA) 2020. The stunning design work that uses the existing trees, effervescent waterway management and the integration of play and picnic areas into its surrounds were key attributes that enabled our 8,300m2 park to win this award. “The existing site qualities integrated with the creek corridor, the existing mature trees carefully designed into the space,
The second half of 2021 and early 2022 will see the start of construction for two new parks within Brookhaven. The 5,000m2 Fig Tree Park located at the heart of the premium Fig Tree Heights precinct. This park will feature walking tracks, a kick and throw oval, a shaded children’s playground, exercise equipment, picnic shelters and ‘garden rooms’ throughout the park so people can enjoy the green spaces with a bit more privacy. Fig Tree Park is a ‘local park’ designed to the standards set by Logan City Council to be used by local residents, instead of attracting people from further afield and
“We’re especially proud of this award as Discovery Park reflects everything Brookhaven represents; environmentally sound and enhancing eco-systems retained through bio-diversity, habitat and topography.” Richard Sefton, Development Director Discovery Park
provides a sense of place, shade from day one and enhanced environmental outcomes. The play experience is enhanced by the way it uses the different levels and weaves through the landscape, creating a sense of adventure and discovery. This park demonstrates the value of well-designed green spaces as a focus for the community particularly in our post-Covid environment.” The judges from the LUDA stated. Discovery Park is the second park to be delivered, after the 7,500m2 Haven Park.
this is why there are to be no BBQ or toilet facilities included in Council’s code for this style of park. The second park will be the 2,000m2 Ironbark Park, located on the entry boulevard of the upcoming Greenview precinct. Featuring green lawns, a kids play equipment with shade sails and a picnic shelter, it will be similar to Discovery Park by integrating with the natural topography of the area, incorporating level changes into the play area for children to enjoy and explore.
Community Events Can you spot someone you know? Maybe it’s you! Residents have been busy mingling for the past few months and that is just the beginning, we have many more events scheduled for 2021.
Meet the Easter Bunny Brookhaven families and the local community took part in an Easter Scavenger Hunt on Ullman Oval and had their photo taken with The Easter Bunny. With Brookhaven Bean Café putting on a special menu that day, chocolate treats were enjoyed by all, big and small.

They were joined by Councillor Tony Hall and Bert van Manen MP and his team. Their amazing efforts were rewarded by Frasers Property Australia with a sausage sizzle kindly manned by the Beenleigh District Mens Shed.
The Bee Series Our on-site beehives were buzzing with activity in May when beekeeper, Jack Stone from Bee One Third held an intimate ‘in-hive experience’ for an exclusive group of residents. After a delicious honey tasting, everyone enjoyed learning the art of candle-making using beeswax.
