‘Eat street’ on menu FRANKSTON’S Station St Mall is set to become a foodie mecca rivalling the laneways and malls of Melbourne according to Frankston Council under a plan to attract quality restaurants, cafes and other food outlets to the area. Businesses will offered up to $50,000 in ‘Eat Street’ grants by the council and the state government to transform shops into cosmopolitan-style outlets featuring al fresco dining. One vacant property is already available and two more are expected to be ready next year. Frankston Council CEO Dennis Hovenden said the mall was a major thoroughfare for visitors to Bayside Shopping Centre, with ample room for outdoor dining.
