Freewriting is an exercise that helps you set your writer’s voice free.

Let’s set a time limit of 5 minutes for this freewriting exercise.

Keep your hand moving.

Do not stop to cross anything out.

Write quickly but do not rush.

Do not be afraid to write down whatever is running through your mind.

If you feel uncomfortable as you’re writing,

ask yourself what is bothering you, and write about that.

Question # 5 How can we forget perfectionism?

Pay no attention to grammar, spelling, punctuation, neatness, or style.

Nobody other than yourself needs to read what you write.

Focus completely on the creator hand.

Forget about the editor hand.

With freewriting, there is no wrong answer.
