«My bugs and I» is a collection where I enlived insects, each look representing a different little creature. My silhouettes are huge and the outfits are voluminous because I wanted to showcase the majesty of insects in contrast to their small size, to allow for appreciation of their morphological details and complexity.
By definition, insects are living beings with technical attributes that allow them to adapt to the environment around them; they need to hide, hunt, reproduce, etc. As such, I was inspired by the technical aspect that connects us to the natural world, adding many details such as carabiners, elastic cords, and materials adapted to meteorological variations.
In addition to this, I left a large door open to the imagination with pronounced, original shapes and colors that are out of the ordinary. One can feel an Asian inspiration in my silhouettes, like Yamamoto or Yayoi Kusama, who also have this childlike aspect with ambiguous creations that are both literal and crazy. I wanted to create an impactful and playful collection that reflects my personality. I like to think that itās a kind of quirky minimalism.
Factually, you can find padded jackets with growths and vivid color associations. I want people to quickly understand which insect it represents, allowing me to explore various different themes while still maintaining a cohesive thread. Thatās why you can find kimonos next to puffer jackets or even fur.
So, try to call upon your inner child to discover my bugs.
On the occasion of this past year that led us all to create our own collection, I wanted to make something very visual with surprising combinations. As far back as I can remember, I have been categorized as an outgoing person with a quirky personality and universe. Itās true that I try to add entertainment to situations whenever I get the chance.
So it was important for me to design something for my diploma that reflected my personality and particularly in line with this aspect of myself. Even though I also like simpler outfits that are more suitable for daily wear, I really wanted to express my desires for colors and shapes, so it was quite natural for me to imagine outfits based on the theme of insects, mixing my strong techwear inspirations with these amazing appearances.
And thus, at the end of a year in which I learned a lot about the design of complex clothing, the collection āmy bugs and Iā was born

I wanted there to be few colors in my collection, but for them to be impactful and bright. Lots of black combinations with one or two other colors. This association gives a minimalist feel to the collection. MANDIBLE

UP
This bob that comes with the silhouette of the caterpillar is made of ripstop fabric. I have added multiple loops to it that allow elastic cords to pass through. These cords hang down on the extremities of the bob and create a tangle of ropes. These cords represent the threads of the chrysalis the caterpillar tears through as it becomes an adult.
This bag comes with the silhouette of the ant, and I made it using black poplin, 10mm climbing ropes, cords, and carabiners. This bag consists of two large modular pouches that can be removed and repositioned. An ant can carry 10 times its weight, which is why the back pouch is particularly large.

Silhouette board
I took inspiration from the weight of the ladybug and reversed the colors to follow the harmonies of my collection. The down jacket and shorts are durable thanks to ETAproof cotton. The outfit consists of a down jacket, down shorts, and a sports jersey t-shirt with serigraphy.
THE LADYBUG
THE ANT
This silhouette is inspired by the packaging system of Christo and Jeanne-Claude with many pleats. The outfit consists of a black poplin dress cinched with cords, a black laminated jacket with adjustable sleeves, and finally, a large bag composed of two adjustable satchels.
The silhouette of the praying mantis is inspired by its aggressiveness and its agile, slender body. The outfit consists of a tank top that can be fastened with snap buttons on the ends and a zipper in the middle. On top of that, there is a long green kimono tightly cinched with a waistband. Elastic cords are prominently featured throughout.
THE PRAYING MANTIS
THE CATERPILLAR
I take my inspiration from the orange and black processionary caterpillars. The silhouette consists of a bodysuit that fastens with carabiners and a rope. On top, there is a huge coat with fur trims and a belt that also closes with carabiners
Silhouette board
The wasp-inspired silhouette is inspired by its aggressiveness. It features an adjustable tank top that fastens with snap buttons and a central zipper, adorned with two spikes representing the waspās sting. There is a black kimono that cinches with a laced waistband where these spikes are also present. The silhouette is completed with leg warmers and cuffs.
Silhouette board
The beetle-inspired silhouette consists of a very wide and adjustable parachute pants with elastic cords, a ribbed jersey t-shirt, and a down jacket adorned with iridescent patches representing the beetleās shells.
