Cattle Breeding Farm

 Started

in 1957 by Govt of Kerala as Dry cattle salvage farm

 1964-65

– Calf rearing scheme was started.

 In

1969, the ICAR scheme was completed and Govt of Kerala took over and functioned as a Livestock farm

 In

1972,farm was taken over by KAU and again converted to dry salvage farm

 In

1993, upgraded to a milch cattle breeding farm

Mandate

     

Provide research facility on large animals.

Fodder Research Provide on-farm trainings Transfer of technology to farmers.

Artificial insemination and treatment Supply of fodder slips to farmers

 Develop the farm as a model dairy farm.
