Viking Nation Last year, we celebrated FPD’s 50th Anniversary. This year, we look forward to the next 50 years and FPD’s bright future. First Presbyterian Day School was built by the generosity of numerous people who gave of their time and resources to develop the very best Christian school experience in Central Georgia. By continuing to support FPD, we honor the legacy of the donors before us and strengthen FPD’s foundation for future generations. With that in mind, we are excited to announce the launch of the 2020-2021 FPD Fund with the theme, “Row the Boat.” Why “Row the Boat?” Rowing a boat takes teamwork, cooperation, and grit. To move forward all rowers must work together. Viking Nation, let us row together! We are humbly asking you to jump in our Viking ship, grab an oar, man a sail, and start rowing towards the incredible future God has planned for us. Together, we will build upon our strong foundation of Christ-centered, academic excellence and move forward to the next chapter in FPD’s remarkable history. As examples of how gifts to the “Row the Boat” campaign may be used, we selected three projects based on input from TEAM FPD and the Development Committee of the School Board. These improvement projects will enhance our campus and the educational experience for our students. They are outlined on the following pages. Let us “Row the Boat” together. FPD FUND POTENTIAL PROJECT 1 EXAMPLE PROJECT 1
NEW PLAYGROUND & OUTDOOR LEARNING SPACES Outdoor play is a vibrant part of the FPD lower school experience. Students learn teamwork, cooperation, and motor skills while playing with their peers. Updated play spaces accompanied with new outdoor learning spaces will provide engaging opportunities for students to learn and grow outdoors. FPD’s two lower school playgrounds will receive upgrades, including new swings, obstacle course play sets, and a Viking ship climbing center. Outdoor learning spaces will also be incorporated in these spaces along with new landscaping and shade.

UPDATE TO FPD ENTRANCE & EXIT FPD’s new entrance & exit experiences along Calvin Drive will reflect the high caliber educational experience of First Presbyterian Day School from the moment visitors arrive on campus. Similar to that found on many college campuses, fresh landscaping, light posts, and flag poles will enhance our family and visitor welcome, showcasing our mission, sense of community, and school spirit.

S.T.E.M. LAB In addition to these outdoor enhancements, FPD will use “Row the Boat� gifts to create a S.T.E.M. lab. This engaging space will include augmented reality technology that allows students to explore and manipulate virtual 3D objects and spaces, HP SPROUT computers which allow students to explore in 3D, and science and math manipulatives that enhance the student experience.

GIVE $1000 OR MORE Each family giving $1000 or more annually to the FPD Fund gains automatic membership to FPD’s Day School Society. This group of leadership givers shares in the spirit and camaraderie of Viking Nation and is honored at a special event each spring. Please consider becoming a member of FPD’s Day School Society by giving $1000 or more annually to the FPD Fund. Donors who make lifetime gifts totaling $100,000 or more are considered Life Members of the Day School Society.
