Welcome to Our Annual Report In attempting to create this annual report for Covenant Partners, prospective Covenant Partners, and potential visitors, the goal was to show the breadth and depth of the ministries at First Presbyterian Church.

As a Covenant Partner, I had never seen all of First Pres gathered together in one place. This report is a first attempt to reflect as much of the life and ministry of our church as possible.

Throughout these pages, you will see the many ways First Presbyterian Church seeks to live out its mission:

Loving Christ. Loving One Another. Loving the City.

In some cases, activities are summarized, but every effort has been made to include the wide range of ministries, service, worship, education, care, outreach, and support that take place throughout the church. If an area was unintentionally missed, it was simply an oversight.

It is my hope that this report allows all of us to better see the many ways God is working through First Presbyterian Church.

Perhaps as you read, you will discover areas where your own spiritual gifts and interests may lead you into deeper service and fellowship.

I especially want to thank all those who contributed materials, stories, and details for this report — particularly the Communications Team for helping bring everything together.

Worship at FPC Celebrating What God Has Done This year, we celebrate God’s faithfulness in our worship life together. Through Word, music, sacrament, and community, our congregation has continued to grow in faith and connection. We rejoice especially in the celebration of 21 baptisms, welcoming new life into the family of God. Average monthly attendance across all four in-person worship services and online worship was slightly lower than in 2024 (3,912 average monthly attendees in 2024 compared to 3,631 in 2025).

We are deeply grateful for those who assist in music ministry, worship, serve communion, and our steadfast ushering teams. Your dedication creates a welcoming and meaningful worship experience each week.

Through worship and service, we continue to reflect Christ’s love in action—supporting one another within our church and reaching outward to those in need.

with other churches in San Antonio, to strengthen our connection to the wider community.

MUSIC MINISTRY

A YEAR OF FAITHFUL MUSIC

Our Music Ministry seeks to glorify God through heartfelt and vibrant worship. Led by dedicated

volunteers and staff, we seek to uphold the beauty and theological depth of sacred music while fostering congregational participation and spiritual growth. Through both traditional and contemporary expressions, we seek to create opportunities for the church family to encounter God through song.

WORSHIP & DISCIPLESHIP IMPACT Our varied musical ensembles span the depth and breadth of our congregation as follows: Sanctuary Choir: This outstanding choral ensemble provided leadership in our Traditional services, as well as other significant celebrations in the life of the church, such as Easter and Christmas Eve.

Their worship leadership also strengthened community outreach and congregational engagement through concerts for our larger community, such as the Midday Noels concert series in December 2025 and our Mozart Requiem concert rescheduled for March 2026.

For several months in 2025, Dr. Jae Ha provided excellent interim leadership of our choir in the absence of Minister of Music Tom Dooling, who was recovering from a severe illness and emergency surgery.

Chamber Singers & Handbell Ensemble: These ensembles expanded musical variety in worship with inspired offerings of musical praise.

Modern Worship Team: This devoted group of musicians provided excellent weekly leadership in our expanded two-service offering for Modern Worship while fostering discipleship and relational care within the Modern Worship team. Outstanding interim leadership was provided by Wes Taylor and Kara Weaver following the departure of Callan Brown in January 2025. Wes continues as our Interim Modern Worship leader.

Children’s Choir: Consistent weekly participation fostered early discipleship through worship and musical learning. Recent additions have included Music with Families for parents and children 8 weeks to 3 years old.

OUTREACH

& BROADER COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT The Friday Singers, a singing outreach ministry led

by Charlotte Gates and Dr. Jae Ha, provided more than 30 performances in retirement and nursing facilities throughout the San Antonio area, offering encouragement and pastoral presence through music.

The Midday Noel concert series, our Christmas “Gift to the City” of San Antonio, continued to attract members of our broader community, as well as Covenant Partners of FPC, to three outstanding musical offerings at Noon on Thursdays in December.

The Mary Jean Rogers Memorial concert was not offered in March/April of 2025, but will return on March 22, 2026, with a concert performance of the Mozart Requiem featuring chorus, orchestra, and soloists under the direction of Tom Dooling.

The William C. Hall Pipe Organ Competition continued in its long tradition of supporting college/university organ students – the future of traditional worship settings like our own. Founded in 1971 to encourage emerging church organists, the competition has served more than 400 students, awarded over $170,000 in prizes, and attracted participants and judges from leading universities across the nation. Sustained through the faithful support of FPC and the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation, the competition continued to promote church music education, innovation, and worship leadership in San Antonio, across the US, and around the world.

VISION FOR 2026 As we look toward 2026 and beyond, our Music Ministry remains committed to strengthening congregational singing that is firmly grounded in Scripture and the deep well of our Reformed tradition. We will also continue to offer thoughtful and welcoming concert programs that extend our ministry beyond Sunday worship, inviting our neighbors and wider community to experience the beauty of sacred music within our historic campus. With gratitude for the decades of musical excellence cultivated within the sacred spaces of First Presbyterian Church, we will steward this heritage faithfully, ensuring that our offerings of praise remain vibrant and theologically grounded.

In all these efforts, we seek to honor the One who calls us to worship in spirit and truth.

Prayer at FPC Seeking God Together Through Prayer

Throughout 2025, the Prayer Ministry Committee (PMC) encouraged deeper prayer, spiritual formation, and intercession through studies, prayer walks, devotional resources, and community prayer experiences.

Growing in Prayer 200 copies of “A Diary of Private Prayer,” were sold in January 2025. This twice-daily devotional encouraged participants in a deeper relationship with Jesus. Discounted were books sponsored by the PMC. ”Emotionally Healthy Spirituality” Class, during Lent, had 40 participants enjoying dinner, biblical teaching and small group discussions to grow in their love for God. “Emotionally Healthy Relationships” Class, a follow-up summer course sponsored by PMC, gave the 34 participants practical skills to foster transformative love for others.

Bible study & devotion resources for grandmothers, mothers, and daughters were presented by Jeannie Dullnig in September as an encouragement to parents and grandparents.

Tim Keller’s “Psalms” devotional was offered Nov-Dec as a resource for the new year.

Moms In Prayer & Senior Prayer Gatherings

“Prayer remains at the heart of loving Christ, loving one another, and loving the city.”

Praying for One Another Moms In Prayer International, a small group led by Debbie Taylor, met at FPC on Tuesdays throughout the school year. Women gathered to praise and thank God, confess sins, and pray over each other’s children or grandchildren and their schools in groups of two or three.

Monthly Prayers: Senior church members, led

by Becca Price, prayed monthly for our church, its missions, ministries, leadership, staff and community.

Back-to-School Prayer at the Flagpole: Jeannie Dullnig, Jeanie Wehmeyer, and Carrie Everson, PMC members, led administrators, parents, and children who all joined together on August 10 at the schools of their choice to pray over each campus to start the school year.

Prayer in the Community National Day of Prayer: On May 1, PMC, through the leadership of Eva Eckburg, led a Spirit-filled Prayer Walk to the beautiful National Day of Prayer Service at First Baptist Church.

A Shalom Prayer Gathering, a beautiful service led by PMC member Carrie Everson, was held on October 2 at Mount Zion First Baptist Church.

Healing Ministry exploration was conducted in November by members of PMC who attended healing services at Grace Anglican Northridge and Christ Episcopal. The PMC considered how it might bring a desired similar healing service to FPC. Centering Prayer, a six-hour retreat led by Carrie Everson, was offered at the Oblate Theological Center and was well received.

Growing As Disciples Adult Education & Discipleship Adult Education and Discipleship seeks to equip believers of all ages to become spiritually mature, missionally minded disciples of Jesus Christ. Through Sunday School classes, Bible studies, Alpha, Zbinden Center offerings, and small groups, members are encouraged to deepen their faith while building meaningful relationships with one another. Throughout 2025, these opportunities continued to help both new believers and long-time Covenant Partners grow in knowledge, fellowship, and service.

Sunday Morning Classes Ambassadors and Family Journey encouraged parents and families as they navigated the challenges of raising children and teenagers in today’s world.

Arthur Gray-Jones, a Sunday morning class with roots dating back to the early 1920s, engaged in warm fellowship and lively discussions as they read and studied to better understand God’s Word.

Bereans, our 8:30 AM class, welcomed more than 30 people each week for exploration and understanding of Scripture like the earnest truth seekers from Berea in Acts.

Connections focused on exploring how God speaks into everyday life by diving deeper into the Scripture passages used in the worship services each Sunday.

Bridges used The Chosen as a springboard for meaningful conversation and spiritual reflection.

Small Groups & Fellowship Adult discipleship extended beyond the classroom through fellowship gatherings, shared meals, prayer support, and small group relationships.

These opportunities helped Covenant Partners build meaningful connections, care for one another during seasons of illness and loss, and grow together in faith throughout the year.

Bible Studies & Special Courses Alpha welcomed new believers and seekers, providing foundational instruction in the Christian faith and opportunities for honest questions and discussion.

Covenant Partners also participated in studies on Christian History and Western Civilization, Biblical Foundations for Women in Ministry, and Spiritual Warfare, broadening opportunities for biblical and theological exploration.

Through the Zbinden Center, offerings such as Holy Heretics, Z-Talks, and other educational events continued to provide deeper learning opportunities rooted in the Reformed tradition.

2025 Highlights Bereans Class Relaunch – The Genesis 2 class from the late 1980s–late 2000s relaunched as “Bereans,” welcoming over 30 participants to weekly Bible study and discussion.

Alpha Ministry Growth – Alpha continued to provide a welcoming environment for seekers and new believers to explore the Christian faith through conversation, study, and fellowship.

Expanded Learning Opportunities – Members participated in studies including Christian History and Western Civilization, Biblical Foundations for Women in Ministry, Spiritual Warfare, and numerous Zbinden Center offerings.

Family-Focused Discipleship – Ambassadors and Family Journey provided encouragement and support for parents navigating different stages of family life.

New in 2025 Kara Weaver joined the staff as Small Groups & Discipleship Coordinator, helping create new pathways for connection, spiritual growth, and community engagement. A generous donor provided funding for her first year of ministry.

A special thank you to our Sunday School teachers, ministers, Bible study leaders, and small group facilitators who make discipleship opportunities available throughout the week. In addition to classes offered on Sunday mornings at 8:30 and 9:30 AM, leaders facilitate studies on Monday afternoons, Tuesday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and Thursday mornings, as well as small groups meeting in homes and other locations throughout the community. Their faithful service helps create pathways for learning, connection, and spiritual growth.

Strengthening Marriages Marriage Ministry First Presbyterian Church remains committed to supporting healthy, Christcentered marriages. Throughout 2025, Marriage Ministry leaders continued providing resources, mentoring, and educational opportunities designed to help couples strengthen their relationships and grow together in faith.

The ministry continued utilizing the Prepare/Enrich assessment process, equipping trained Marriage Mentors to guide both engaged couples preparing for marriage and established couples seeking deeper connection and communication. These mentoring relationships provide practical tools and biblical encouragement tailored to each couple’s unique circumstances.

Marriage-focused learning opportunities are also offered through Sunday School classes and other discipleship settings, helping couples engage important topics related to communication, friendship, spiritual growth, and family life.

As the ministry looks ahead, there remain opportunities for Covenant Partners to become involved through mentoring, teaching, event support, and hospitality. The Marriage Ministry Committee continues to welcome volunteers who feel called to invest in strengthening marriages within our church family.

Serving in Worship Ushers Every Sunday, ushers help create a welcoming and meaningful worship experience for Covenant Partners and visitors alike. From helping worshippers find seating and distributing worship materials to receiving offerings and assisting during special services, ushers provide practical support that allows worship to flow smoothly.

Often, an usher is one of the first people a visitor meets when arriving on campus. Through a friendly greeting, a helpful conversation, or a simple act of service, these volunteers help communicate the warmth and hospitality of Christ before worship even begins.

Ushers serve throughout the year in Traditional and Modern Worship, memorial services, holiday services, and other special events. Their presence helps create an atmosphere of hospitality, order, and care while supporting the many moving pieces that take place during worship.

Women of the Church Hospitality, Fellowship, & Faith in Action Through Bible Study Circles, retreats, Ladies Night Out gatherings, luncheons, and ministry partnerships, women across generations gathered to grow in Christ, encourage one another, and serve both the church and the wider community. At the Spring Luncheon, participants were challenged through the theme Getting into the Water: The Secret of Disciple Making to faithfully invest in the people God places in their path. Throughout the year, Women of the Church continued building meaningful relationships while sharing Christ’s love through hospitality, fellowship, and service.

Hospitality

Hospitality remained a defining focus throughout the year. From luncheons and fellowship events to welcoming newcomers and supporting church gatherings, women created spaces where relationships could grow and faith could be shared. Whether around a meal, in a Bible Study Circle, or through a simple invitation to connect, hospitality served as a pathway for building community and encouraging spiritual growth.

Fellowship

Fellowship grew through nine Bible Study Circles, Ladies Night Out gatherings, retreats, coffees, and shared meals. Each Circle developed its own unique traditions and character while studying God’s Word together. Across generations, women found encouragement, friendship, prayer support, and opportunities to grow in faith alongside one another.

Faith in Action

Faith was lived out through compassionate service to the church and community. Women prepared meals, created prayer shawls and blankets, supported local ministry partners, served residents at Morningside Manor, contributed to mission efforts, and provided practical care for those experiencing illness, grief, or hardship. Through countless acts of generosity, WOC continued to demonstrate Christ’s love in tangible ways.

Men’s Ministry Strengthening Men in Faith & Fellowship Throughout 2025, Men’s Ministry provided opportunities for Covenant Partners and guests to grow in faith, build meaningful friendships, and encourage one another in Christ. Through retreats, Bible studies, discipleship groups, and fellowship events, men gathered regularly to study Scripture, share life together, and strengthen one another in their walk with Jesus.

With a renewed focus on brotherhood, accountability, and spiritual growth, the ministry continued through Tribe gatherings, small groups, quarterly dinners, and special events, helping men develop deeper relationships with God and with one another.

Through fellowship, accountability, and prayer, the ministry continued to strengthen men for lives of discipleship, service, and leadership within the church and community.

Keeping Everyone Young in Spirit KEYS Older Adults Ministry KEYS (Keeping Everyone Young in Spirit) provides older adults with opportunities for Christian fellowship, lifelong learning, recreation, worship, and service. Throughout 2025, members gathered weekly and monthly for educational programs, concerts, birthday celebrations, fitness programs, games, travel opportunities, pastoral care, and seasonal events. Through these shared experiences, KEYS continued to build a community of encouragement, friendship, and faith that reflects Christ’s care in every season of life.

Young Adults FPC Young Adults is a welcoming community for adults in their 20s, 30s, and young families.

Through discipleship, fellowship, and service, participants build meaningful relationships while growing together in Christ.

Building Community Across Life Stages Throughout 2025, Young Adults and Ambassadors created spaces for discipleship, friendship, service, and spiritual growth. Through small groups, shared meals, retreats, outreach projects, and leadership opportunities, young adults continued to build authentic Christian community while serving the church and city around them.

Community & Discipleship

Young Adults and Ambassadors gathered regularly through weekly small groups, monthly Second Sunday Lunches, First Sunday Suppers, and home gatherings. These rhythms created opportunities for young adults, young families, and parents of young children to study Scripture, build friendships, and encourage one another in faith.

Leadership & Service

Young adults served throughout the church as committee leaders, SALT mentors, Sunday School teachers, and ministry volunteers. They also became a driving force in local outreach and disaster relief efforts, demonstrating a commitment to serving both the church and the broader community.

Renewal & Resilience

Following a season of transition, young adults continued choosing faithfulness, healing, and community. Leaders stepped forward, relationships deepened, and the Ambassadors community began rebuilding with hope for the future.

Responders following the July floods.

Daily Bread, and the Ecumenical Center

University & College Building Disciples, Leaders, & Community FPC’s University & College Ministry exists to help students follow Jesus wholeheartedly during one of life’s most formative seasons. Through worship, discipleship, leadership development, and authentic Christian community, students are encouraged to deepen their faith, build meaningful friendships, and become faithful witnesses for Christ on their campuses and beyond.

Building Disciples

Throughout 2025, students gathered for worship, Bible studies, retreats, testimony nights, and special events designed to help them strengthen their faith and apply the gospel to everyday life.

Teaching focused on gospel foundations and the Beatitudes, while small groups and mentoring relationships encouraged students to pursue a deeper walk with Christ.

Developing Leaders

A major focus of the year was raising up student leaders. Building on previous years of investment, the ministry expanded from seven student interns to twenty-one discipleship interns who helped lead gatherings, build relationships, and create opportunities for spiritual development on campus. Students increasingly took ownership of the ministry and embraced the call to make disciples of others.

Through shared meals, retreats, worship nights, service projects, and campus gatherings, students formed meaningful friendships rooted in Christ.

From Belonging to Leadership Student Ministry serves middle school and high school students while equipping them to become active disciples, leaders, and members of the church.

In 2025, students continued moving through a discipleship pathway designed to help them take ownership of their faith and grow as followers of Christ. From their first experiences in middle school through Confirmation, high school discipleship, and leadership opportunities, students were encouraged to deepen their faith, serve others, and invest in the life of the church.

Raising Up Children & Their Families Growing Faith Through Every Season

Throughout 2025, Children’s Ministry partnered with families and the congregation to help children grow in faith, friendship, and a deeper understanding of God’s love. Through Sunday School, worship experiences, special events, and service opportunities, children learned about Jesus while building meaningful relationships with caring adults and peers.

Nurturing Faith

Children explored God’s Word each week through Sunday School and the launch of The Gospel Project curriculum. Bible Workshops, Communion preparation, worship experiences, and classroom discipleship helped children build a foundation of faith while learning how Scripture connects to their everyday lives.

Partnering with Families

Children’s Ministry equipped parents and grandparents to nurture faith at home through Baby Brunch, Bible Workshops, and the Mary’s Children Seminar. Bible Workshops for twoyear-olds and third graders provided age-appropriate tools for engaging Scripture at home, culminating in the presentation of a personal Bible to each child during worship. This year’s seminar also helped families navigate technology, social media, and digital safety through a biblical lens.

Celebrating & Building Community

From Advent Festival and the Children’s Pageant to outreach events with Children’s Center families, children experienced the joy of worship, friendship, and belonging throughout the year.

More than 520 people attended the Children’s Pageant in person, with over 100 additional viewers joining online.

Living Faith Through Service

From VBS and Advent Festival to the Christmas Pageant, children participated in local mission efforts by collecting more than 300 cans of food for Christian Assistance Ministry (CAM) and winter clothing items for the Kingdom Restoration Lab (KRL). These opportunities helped children learn that following Jesus includes serving neighbors with compassion and generosity.

Championing Missions at FPC Building Relationships for the Gospel The Lord has abundantly blessed FPC with partnerships to participate in His mission of restoration, both in San Antonio and around the world. These partnerships are a gift to our congregation, and we are called to champion them and those they serve.

The Muslim World

A team of six served the North African Church by hosting a leadership conference, strengthening and encouraging leaders who often minister in isolation.

During Ramadan, over 40 FPC members prayed intentionally for the Muslim world. God moved powerfully—one partner reported 30 individuals from an unreached group joining discipleship groups.

Despite persecution—including family rejection, job loss, and imprisonment—the Church continued to grow with bold and resilient faith.

Mission South Mission South Ministry strengthened key Reformed church partnerships along the Texas–Mexico border, throughout Mexico, and in areas of need across the Caribbean and South America. The congregation also provided consistent financial support to FPC’s Antioch Partner missionary couples and other Reformed ministries.

Church Planting Celebrating What God Has Done

In 2025, we have seen God continue to build His Church in San Antonio through new leaders, new congregations, and meaningful gospel impact across our city.

One of the most exciting developments this year is the launch by our first Church Plant Resident, Seun ‘S.O.’ Otukpe, who moved to San Antonio from the UK ten years ago, and is preparing to plant The Table at the Pearl. His team has already hosted a kickoff gathering with over 100 people in attendance and remained committed to meet this Spring as they build momentum to begin worship in September.

We ask for continued prayers for S.O., his wife Sophia, their children, and this new work.

God is not only planting churches—He is drawing people to Himself. Across these new congregations, we are seeing lives changed, communities reached, and the gospel taking root in diverse neighborhoods throughout San Antonio.

Developing Church Planting Leaders We are grateful to have added two new members to our Church Planting Team: Jack Thomas and Stephanie Tibbits, with Stephanie joining as a new member of our church. Their involvement reflects growing engagement and investment in church planting within our congregation.

We are also grateful to have Whit Anderson serving as our Director of Church Planting. As a former church planter, Whit brings both experience and wisdom in how to best engage, support, and encourage those in this work. He is constantly building relationships with pastors and planters across the city—often fueled by more than his fair share of coffee—while also getting things done and keeping the bigger picture in focus. Whit is a tremendous asset to FPC, our Church Planting Committee, and all who serve alongside him.

In March, we welcomed Israel (“Izzy”) Méndez and his wife Sarah to a session dinner. Sarah led worship, and Izzy shared a devotional with our leadership. Izzy serves on staff at FPC, helping lead Church Planting Cohorts, and also serves pastorally at Commission Church (formerly ACC). Their time with us was both encouraging and strengthening.

We also hosted a Church Planting wives’ dinner in March 2025 with approximately 15 women in attendance. It was an incredible evening of connection, encouragement, and shared experience. We look forward to gathering again this spring.

FPC’s Church Planting Committee has remained highly engaged in the San Antonio Church Planting Network (SACPN). FPC hosted a well-attended lunch in October, and in January our interim Modern Worship Leader, Wes Taylor, led worship at the SACPN gathering. It was encouraging to see many of the church plants we support present and participating.

Z Center Cohorts— FPC Church Planting partnered with the Zbinden Center for Biblical Leadership to offer seminary level classes to church planters, pastors and ministry leaders. In the spring & fall semesters we offered foundations courses for the Old and New Testament that covered the structure and content of the Bible. These classes were taught

by Whit Anderson, Izzy Mendez and other seasoned pastors as co-lecturers.

The task force’s primary focus has been Essential Action E, which calls for a comprehensive review and revision of FPC’s governance system.

A significant milestone was the development and adoption of FPC’s Guiding Principles, fulfilling Essential Action G and providing a shared framework for leadership and ministry across the church. The task force also facilitated the creation and revision of key governance resources, including officer nominating guidelines, pastor nominating guidelines, committee best practices, officer training materials, committee overviews, and a comprehensive master list of committees, subcommittees, task forces, ministries, and organizations. The Former Pastor Policy was also completed in response to Essential Action J. Working alongside elders, deacons, staff, and Covenant Partners, the task force continues to strengthen the systems, policies, and leadership structures that support the ministry of First Presbyterian Church. While much of this work takes place behind the scenes, it provides a stronger foundation for effective leadership, accountability, and long-term church health. The task force is grateful for the many individuals who have contributed to this ongoing process.

Caring for our Home Property Stewardship The Property Committee oversees the stewardship of the facilities and grounds entrusted to First Presbyterian Church. Throughout 2025, the committee focused on preserving our historic campus, expanding ministry capacity, improving safety and accessibility, and planning for future generations of ministry.

The committee continued pursuing opportunities to strengthen FPC’s physical presence in downtown San Antonio. During 2025, the church acquired the Braun Property, three Grace Lutheran parking lots, and the adjacent Turimex property, expanding ministry capacity and supporting future growth.

Preserving Our Historic Campus Significant investments were made in the care of FPC’s historic facilities, including Sanctuary wood and wall refinishing, repainting doors and Nowlin Tower, and ongoing planning for future interior improvements. These efforts helped preserve the beauty and character of our campus while generating $242,850 in historic tax credits.

Safety & Accessibility The committee worked closely with staff to improve security, installing new intrusion alarm systems and maintaining security coverage whenever the campus is open. Accessibility reviews also continued as FPC explores ways to better serve individuals with mobility challenges.

Looking Ahead Planning continues for future campus improvements, including Student Center upgrades, Columbarium expansion, enhanced pedestrian safety, and long-term facility improvements that will support ministry for generations to come.

Operations Overview How We Keep the Church Running Like any organization serving its community, First Presbyterian Church has a robust, behind-thescenes operation that keeps everything running smoothly. From managing finances to maintaining our facilities, a dedicated team works hard every day so that our Covenant Partners can focus on worship, fellowship, and ministry, knowing that the church is protected through compliance with current laws and well-designed controls. Our operational work falls under the oversight of the Session and includes personnel management, accounting and finance, governance and compliance, facility management, and security.

Personnel Committee

Our staff is one of our greatest gifts, and the Personnel Committee exists to support and care for the people who serve this church every day. This committee oversees hiring, compensation, employee benefits, and staff well-being. They work to ensure that First Presbyterian is a place where employees are treated with fairness, dignity, and Christian compassion — and that the right people are in place to carry out the church’s many ministries. The Personnel Committee also provides a confidential resource for staff to raise concerns and works closely with church leadership to address any personnel matters that arise.

Stewardship & Finance

The Stewardship and Finance Committee provides oversight of the church’s financial health. This group ensures that the generous giving of our Covenant Partners is managed responsibly and transparently — including cash management, vendor payments, financial reporting, and audits. Their work gives the congregation confidence that every dollar is being used wisely in service of God’s mission.

Campus Security

The safety of our congregation and staff is a top priority. First Presbyterian provides armed officers for all worship services, and security coverage throughout all hours the church is open. This allows everyone on campus to worship and serve in a secure, peaceful environment.

Library & Flower Committees Three beloved volunteer groups help bring beauty and learning to our church life. The Sanctuary Flower Committee coordinates the floral displays that grace our Sanctuary each week. After services, those flowers are shared with “Flower Girls” who take the flowers from the larger arrangements and design smaller vases of flowers for our Deacons to deliver to shut-in Covenant Partners — a tangible expression of care and community. Our Library Committee thoughtfully curates the collection available in the Church Library, selecting books that nourish faith and curiosity.

Property Committee Information Technology Our IT team keeps us connected — both within our walls and beyond. We are actively expanding our digital tools to better present First Presbyterian as a warm, welcoming place of fellowship, inspiration, care, and Christian education. This includes phone apps and online applications designed to make it easier for Covenant Partners to stay engaged and informed.

Communications Our communications team helps tell the story of what God is doing at First Presbyterian. Through content gathering and development, graphic design and media production, these professionals work across many channels to keep our congregation and community informed and connected, including: •

The Property Committee is the dedicated team that keeps our campus in shape — from the Sanctuary to the parking lot and everything in between. They oversee the maintenance, repair, and long-term care of all church buildings and grounds, ensuring that our facilities are safe, clean, and welcoming for worship, events, and community gatherings.

Whether it’s a leaky roof, a fresh coat of paint, or planning a major renovation, this committee takes a thoughtful and responsible approach to being good stewards of the physical home God has given us.

Their behind-the-scenes work makes it possible for every ministry to function well.

The Columbarium Our Columbarium is a sacred and peaceful space available to Covenant Partners who wish to inter the ashes of loved ones on the church grounds. It offers a place of remembrance, comfort, and continued connection to the community of faith.

The First Presbyterian Foundation Through careful planning and the generosity of Covenant Partners — including meaningful life estate gifts — First Presbyterian has been able to build a Foundation for the future. A dedicated group of Trustees manages these endowment funds, which are invested through the Texas Presbyterian Foundation. This financial foundation helps ensure the long-term health and mission of our church for generations to come.

2025 Finance Report We are grateful to share that 2025 was a remarkably successful financial year for First Presbyterian Church. While the year brought its share of challenges, it also brought tremendous blessings — and it is a joy to report that the church closed the year in a strong and healthy position.
