The mission of the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce to Promote, Advocate, Connect, and Educate businesses to foster a stronger local economy was created specifically as a result of the requests of our members when asked how we can help business over the next few years.
There were four common requests: 1. PROMOTE: assisting members to promote their business through social media, referrals, networking, and sponsorship gives members a greater advantage over non-members. 2
ADVOCATE: by working with elected officials and leaders, the Kyle Chamber has the opportunity to keep businesses up to date with issues that may impact their
business. Advocating on their behalf to ensure they’re aware of the changes and issues, leaving them better prepared and better represented. 3
CONNECT: members expressed their desire to not only connect with future customers but are anxious to reconnect with all customers through opportunities to meet in person. 4.
EDUCATION: professional development and skills to enhance the operations and efficiency of a business made the top of the list of requests. We will continue to set the P.A.C.E. to advance and increase the overall health of our members and the local economy. KYLE POPULATION GROWTH
Kyle is located along the Interstate 35 corridor nestled between two major cities in the state of Texas: Austin and San Antonio.
Poised to be the largest city in Hays County, the city of Kyle’s population has multiplied 10 times since the 2000 census from
5,000 residents to more than 52,300 and a projected 2024 population of 60,000. The area is considered to be progressive with its transportation, utility and water plans, access and construction. The city is also undergoing major highway and infrastructure improvements
Kyle used to be known as a bedroom community where 80% of its population left the city every day to work in Austin or other neighboring areas. Now, the city has more than 2 million square feet of industrial space with other developments popping up all over.

Brick and Mortar District is hub for economic and recreational growth

“The Brick and Mortar” District is a unique, regional economic, residential and recreational hub located northwest of the intersection of Kohlers Crossing and Kyle Parkway (FM 1626) in the master-planned community of Plum Creek.
The name reflects the district’s aim to create a place that brings residents together in-person with a design to encourage social interaction and offer unique experiences that promote health and well-being.
The first phase began in March 2022 and will take about eight years to complete.
The district offers thousands of homes within walking distance of workplaces, shops, restaurants and 35 acres of public parkland. The Brick and Mortar District totals 138 acres and 2,500 homes, with 250,000 square feet dedicated to office space and 150,000 square feet for retail space.
Public amenities include La Verde Park,
Heroes Memorial Park and Cultural Trail.
La Verde is a 1.6-acre park adjacent to the apartments and the district’s main retail street.
The park will feature an event lawn for gatherings of up to 2,200 people, market spaces, interactive water features and a world-class playground.
Dedicated to military service members, veterans, first responders and those who lost their lives in the line of duty, Heroes Memorial Park is a 5-acre park with a large pond, pedestrian boardwalk and memorial garden. The park also has an activity lawn, cafe, interactive water features and educational installments.
The Cultural Trail will have artwork by local artists, information about Kyle’s history, market spaces and a shaded 1,200-linear-foot pedestrian and bike trail that will connect with Heroes Memorial, La Verde and the district’s main retail street.

Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park receives improvements

In the heart of downtown Kyle, Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park recently received a facelift to attract even more visitors. The improvements came after the Kyle City Council received a presentation in December 2020. Kinder Morgan funded the improvements through settlement funds paid to the city of Kyle under the 2019 settlement agreement between the city and the Permian Highway Pipeline, LLC and
The park’s improvements work around existing structures like the Krug Activity Center and water fountain. Improvements include access for those with disabilities, a 20-foot-wide promenade, expanded seating areas, picnic table areas, a playground and an educational rain garden. The project has been completed, according to the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department; however, due to the drought, plants will be replaced through warranty.

Costco is coming to Kyle

Many residents ask for diverse shopping options — that will soon come true for Kyle.
In partnership with Hays County, the city of Kyle and Kyle Economic Development Department announced in
2021 that Costco will be coming to town.
The Kyle City Council and Hays County Commissioners Court officially signed Chapter 380 and 381 Economic Development agreements with the multinational corporation on July 27, 2022.
Costco, a membership-based retailer with 813 locations
worldwide and 562 in the U.S., has been a top priority of Kyle Economic Development for several years.
It was also a top request from residents for retail options in the annual Kyle Community Survey.
The Costco location will be about 150,000 square feet and located along Interstate
35 between Kohlers Crossing and Kyle Crossing in the Dry River District Development, which is a 65-acre mixed-use commercial development by Endeavor Real Estate Group, currently anchored by Evo Entertainment and Home Depot.
Costco in Kyle will create approximately 225 jobs.

The city of Kyle honors veterans with an annual Veterans Day Parade, usually held on the Saturday of Veterans Day (Nov 11) weekend
