Hello, friends! It’s been a wild year for everyone but I am so excited to tell you all about my recent adventures in Monticello. Also, Mom & Dad have an announcement. We have a new member of the family! I have a little baby brother! He’s so snuggly and cute, and I know when he gets older we are going to be the best of friends!

Since we are all trying to stay healthy and make sure we take great care of ourselves during the pandemic, my family has gone to Mainline Health Systems to be tested for Covid-19. When vaccines became available, Mom and Dad were so brave and got their shot. The nurses at Mainline even offered them a sucker for being brave!

Once we were sure we were all healthy, we visited Ryburn Motor Company to get the oil changed and the tires rotated on Dad’s vehicle. While we were there, we watched TV in the service waiting area and walked around to look at all the shiny new cars. I told Dad when I grow up, I want the blue car that goes fast!
Dad got a new job at Metal Mart. Every day he gets to help customers pick out the best products for their special projects. I like going to Metal Mart and looking at all the different colors of metal they have. Maybe I can be a builder when I grow up.
With Dad’s new job, my parents knew they needed a quality childcare center with proven results for me. They chose Head of the Class Childcare Center, LLC. My parents said, “Mrs. Sherrie and her staff have over 23 years of experience in the childcare business and a ThreeStar Better Beginnings rating.” The entire staff is really nice! They care a lot about me and have the experience needed to keep me happy and safe. I love the learning environment and playing with all of my friends. I didn’t think summer was ever
going to come but it finally did and
the grass grew taller and taller. We went to Majors Forest and Lawn to get some lawn equipment that was
easy for Mom to use. Majors sells a lot of different types of equipment. I like watching Mom on the lawn mower but I love seeing the tiny
pieces of grass fly into the air when
she puts on her backpack leaf blower.

It gets very hot some summer days. Our neighbor, Mr. Brown was selling watermelons outside and he got too hot one day. His wife called for an ambulance to check him out and make sure he was ok. Monticello Ambulance showed up to their front door very fast. The nice EMT decided that Mr. Brown was dehydrated and needed to go to the hospital for fluids. As they drove away, I waved to the ambulance driver and he flashed the lights and played the loud siren.

Thankfully, we have Drew Memorial Health System in Monticello and Mr. Brown didn’t have to go far. The staff at the hospital knew exactly how to take care of him and get him back home quickly and healthy. I will have to remind Mr. Brown how important it is to drink lots of water!
My Dad likes to take my baby
brother and I to Outfitters RX in
Monticello to make sure we have
everything we need for our outdoor adventures. They sell clothes,
targets, hunting supplies, fishing gear and so much cool stuff. We
surprised Mom with a pretty purple rain jacket one day and Dad bought me my very own fishing pole. I
can’t wait to go fishing, I know I will catch the biggest fish!
After we finished shopping, we all needed a snack. We drove to Sonic to get a cold slush and some mozzarella sticks. Dad likes the cherry slush, mom likes green apple, I like the grape. As soon as our carhop delivers our drinks, we race to see who can drink the fastest and make our tongue turn the color of our slush. Brain freeze!
Before we head home, we had to make a stop at Union Bank so Dad could make his truck payment. My parents say it is very important to have a local bank that you can depend on to help you make the right decisions with your money. Mom and Dad love the smiling faces at Union Bank and are getting ready to open a Johnny Appleseed account for my brother.
