C
oach Heath Clawson is new to the Elgin ISD Athletics Program this year, and he plans on turning Elgin into a powerhouse! He has coached at several schools across Texas, including Del Valle, Highland Park in Dallas, and eventually ended up in Manor as the defense coordinator in 2007. His coaching career continued, with much success, at Boerne where he was the co-offensive coordinator and led his team to the State Quarterfinals in 2010. He was also the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach in Louise for 3 years, then went to Aledo as the running backs coach where they won back-to-back 5A state championships in 2019 and 2020. Coach Clawson wants his team to have the philosophy of Unity, Toughness, and Discipline. Loosely translated... they will work together, be unselfish, and support each other and all sports in order to be successful. Athletes have to be tough mentally and physically to handle adversity, success, and sustain consistent focus throughout anything that they may come across. He and his team will show up every day to put in hard work with a great attitude and relentless effort. Good luck this season Elgin Wildcats!
