“Prior to accepting Executive Director at the Chamber, I had the distinct please of running manufacturing operations in our community for +23 years. During that time I learned how special Shelby County, Shelbyville, and Simpsonville really are! If you’ve been around me much, you’ve heard my speech about us being at the demographic center of the US of everything east of the Rocky Mountains. Leading and being part of that initiative has been the commitment of the Chamber for the past year. Haley Jordan of Spray-Tec, Inc. Wins 2020 Chamber “Member of the Year” Award Although the format of this year’s annual Awards Luncheon looked a little different than previous years, the sentiment surrounding the event remained the same: to recognize

In January, a committee was formed solely to plan and execute a year-long Membership Campaign, which was challenging given the events of 2020. The team, comprised of talented men and women passionate about marketing and membership, met for nine months to brainstorm and plan. The Chamber website

were rebranded, and a beautiful new booklet highlighting the value-add of a Chamber Membership was printed and distributed. A Note from Haley upon receiving this award: I know everyone who receives recognition of this kind says this, but I am so humbled by this honor! Growing up in Shelbyville, I dreamed about getting involved in the business community, learning from its leaders and growing from their wisdom. I was the girl who would research for hours, print off webpages, and clip newspaper articles about where I could spend time with future mentors! Leadership Shelby, the Chamber of Commerce and Shelby Tourism—among many others— were always on my radar. It is an honor to now serve on the Chamber Board of Directors with those same people! I am continuously impressed by the knowledge and passion around the table and it is an honor to experience an actual dream come true! I want to thank the leaders of this community who have welcomed me with open arms and—whether they even know it—have invested in and taught me so much in such a short amount of time. To say I am excited about what the future holds for the Chamber (and Shelby County!) is an understatement! The opportunities here are

2020-2021 Diplomat of the Year I’m honored to receive this award. I enjoy working with the chamber to serve our community and it’s businesses. Through the chamber I have been able to meet several people in the community which has helped grow my business as an insurance agent. Even in 2020 with everything that has happened from being limited in how we network in person to learning what “Zoom” is and how to use it. The chamber has been a resourceful tool to help grow my business. Most of my time spent with the chamber this past year has been working with the membership committee. The membership committee’s role is to help recruit new members to join the chamber, reach out to the members that join, and stay in contact with our current members on how to better their experience with the chamber. Serving as the chair of the membership committee for the past two years has been a great ex-
perience and has led to several new connections and friends. As an insurance agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau in Shelby County, I’ve always been involved with the community. In this position I have been able to help provide coverage to our members to protect their home, auto, farm and their businesses. One of my favorite things about my career is the relationships that I make and how I get to help people through their different stages in life. Whether it is buying their first house, a new car, or having a child, insurance is something that is always needed and I take pride in knowing I provide the best coverage for them. I have enjoyed the time spent working with the chamber and all of its members. I love this community and look forward to continue to serve it.

I appreciate the opportunity to serve for another year on the Chamber Board. It’s been great to meet so many others in the community and help promote the many wonderful amenities that this county provides.
While participating on the Shelby Chamber Board, it has allowed me the opportunity to grow within the community and make the partnerships and connections that will last a lifetime. These connections will help me both personally and professionally to continue to support the goals of the Chamber.
Ashley is a graduate of Kentucky State University. She has been employed with the parks department for 15 years. She is married to Daniel and they have a son, Case, who is 6. She is currently enrolled in the 2020 Class of Leadership Shelby and also serves on the board for the Kentucky Recreation and Park Society as President Elect for the state. Ashley loves spending time outdoors and serving the fine folks of Shelby County.

Before joining ShelbyKY Tourism, Ashton worked with special needs students in the Franklin County Public Schools system. Outside the office Ashton is a member of this year’s Leadership Shelby class, and is a member of the Simpsonville Sports Advisory Board. I am a lifelong resident of the Shelby County community, where my family proudly lives and works today. After going to college at Eastern Kentucky University, I then moved back to Shelby County to work at the family business “Edwards Moving & Rigging.” I have held several positions throughout the company ranging from a crew member to my current position as the President of Edwards Moving & Rigging. I understand the value of hard work and working your way up through the ranks of a company. I still reside in Shelby county with my wife, Becca, and 2 children. We all love the Shelby County Community and are always looking for ways to help and give back.
I was born and raised in South Texas in a town called McAllen where I grew up loving sports and spending time with family. I attended Texas A&M University where I earned a Undergraduate and Masters degree in Sports Management and minor in Business Administration. From college I went to work for the LPGA and PGA Tours where I was an Operations Manager for several tournaments. During that time I lived and worked in places such as Malaysia, California, Chicago, Baltimore, Florida, Denver and a few more in between. The best part of my career in the sport industry was that I was able to meet my now wife while she was playing golf professionally. I am blessed to have been married to my wife Whitney for the last 6+ years and have a 3 year old named Jackson. In 2015 I decided to make a career change and coming from a family (5 State Farm Agents) of insurance...I knew it was my calling! I love being able to help people and assist them in protecting their largest assets and prepare for the future. I am a proud small business owner in Simpsonville & Shelby County and I look forward to helping you soon!
