3 • 2021 Global Finals

The Pitch June 7 & 8 Pitch Days Forty-nine teams from 15 countries will participate in the preliminary round of pitch days on June 7th and 8th. Each venture will be assigned a 25-minute pitch block on either day with the time allotment below. Pitch rooms will have a dedicated host to manage logistics, keep time, and transition teams.

Live 10-minute pitch 15 minutes Q&A and feedback 2-minute transition to the next team Changemaker Round/Top 12 Pitch Day on June 11 Following the first round pitches on June 7th and 8th, the Top 12 teams across both days of pitches will be invited to present their pitches again on June 11th in the Changemaker Round. A new set of judges will review their pitches to determine the final winner(s) of the seed funding prize pool of $60,000+.

What We Ask of Our Global Finalists Clear articulation of social & environmental impact: Successful pitches will identify the problem being addressed, beneficiaries, demonstrate how the proposed innovation will create the desired impact, and articulate the potential breadth and depth of the intended social or environmental impact.

Clear demonstration of the interaction with end-users or beneficiaries: Successful pitches demonstrate things such as test runs, design approaches utilized, assumptions tested, and lessons learned (about the customer, market, problem, or solution). Sharing your findings demonstrates adds credibility to your pitch and potential solution.

Clear, realistic, and logical financial model: Pitches can include a discussion of revenue streams, customer segments, or startup costs. You should also highlight the needed funding sources to get your innovation to market and build a sustainable income stream.

Market and solutions landscape: Include references to existing market solutions and the team's innovation is distinct and better. There are many ways to be innovative - a new market or customer segment, a new idea, new delivery methods, etc. Successful pitches show how a social innovation fits in the landscape of other solutions addressing similar problems.

Team capacity and partnerships: Share an overview of current resources, partnerships, how each team member contributes or will contribute to the social innovation and goals.

Highlight the team's commitment and capacity to refine and follow through on the implementation of the idea.

In Seed Funding

Seed funding will be awarded to the Top 12 teams, runner-ups in the virtual pitch rooms and winners of the special tracks outlined below.

Changemaker Award (First Place) - $22,000 Changemaker Award First Runner-up (Second Place) - $ 10,000 Changemaker Award Second Runner-up (Third Place) - $ 5,000 All other 9 Finalist Teams - $1,000 Pitch Room Runner-ups (Up to 24 pitch rooms) - $500 to each team Women Innovators Award (Ventures founded or co-founded by women) – $1,000 DEI Award (Ventures created to address a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Issue) - $1,000 Instagram Challenge (Individual & Team) - $500 each Audience Choice Award - $500
