While The Four Arts undergoes the most comprehensive renovation in its history, our programming continues across Palm Beach, bringing beloved traditions and new experiences to some of the island’s most celebrated cultural addresses — including the Royal Poinciana Chapel, the Flagler Museum, Palm Beach Day Academy, and Beth Rudin DeWoody’s Bunker Artspace. This season also marks our digital debut, allowing members to watch much of the season live, wherever they may be.

From music spanning four centuries, to opera, films, conversations on science, history, literature, and culture, the season offers endless opportunities for discovery.

A season-long exhibition in the Sculpture Garden will display contemporary photographers’ images that capture the beauty and mystery of birds.

Though our surroundings may change, the spirit of The Four Arts remains constant: bringing people together through extraordinary ideas, art, and experience. DEAR FRIENDS OF THE FOUR ARTS,

Even as our beloved Gubelmann Auditorium has closed for a much-needed update, we are still committed to providing you, our loyal audience, with world-class performances.

We will gather to enjoy great music in Palm Beach’s beautiful Royal Poinciana Chapel, as well as in Johnson Hall in the Dixon Education Building. We have a great season which features creative programming with the highest caliber of artists, and we promise a rich and memorable experience for all.

For the December opening concert, we will hear the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s virtuoso wind soloists, performing invigorating Baroque concertos for flute, oboe, bassoon, and trumpet — bringing a taste of the longstanding Baroque Festival tradition from New York to your own backyard. To celebrate the holidays, the Palm Beach Atlantic University Chamber Choir will regale us with the annual favorite Carols on the Lawn.

To take advantage of Chapel’s magnificent organ, we will bring two legendary organists to Palm Beach for the first time: Grammy Award-winning organist Paul Jacobs and German concert organist Felix Hell, whose solo program will include a pre-concert lecture explaining the repertoire and the instrument.

This year, our Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center festival in February focuses on one of music’s beloved treasures: the violin. Three virtuosic programs celebrate both the beauty of the instrument and the technical brilliance of some of the finest performers in the world. Performances will be paired with Four Arts lectures by featured violinist Aaron Boyd, renowned luthier Samuel Zygmuntowicz, and Carlos Tome, Director at Tarisio, the leading auction house for rare stringed instruments.

In both February and April, two of the world’s most exciting pianists return to The Four Arts: mercurial Gabriela Montero with an all-Spanish inspired program, and distinguished Sir Stephen Hough in partnership with today’s hottest young string quartet, the Viano Quartet, playing the quintet by Dvořák as well as Hough’s own thrilling composition for piano quintet, a work that is not to be missed.

Opera lovers will be thrilled to hear Polish soprano Aleksandra Kurzak and American tenor Matthew Polenzani, on the heels of a highly praised co-run at the Met. The season also embraces musical exploration beyond the classical repertoire. From Avi Avital’s fresh perspective on Baroque masterworks and Aaron Diehl’s compelling dialogue between classical and jazz idioms to performances devoted to flamenco and bluegrass, these concerts highlight exceptional artistry across time and place.

In a first for The Four Arts, the season will introduce a cabaret series featuring three distinguished Broadway artists, bringing the intimacy, wit, and musical sophistication of the cabaret stage to our audiences.

While we await our return to an even more beautiful auditorium, we want to thank you for all your support and friendship. The last few seasons saw extraordinary growth of our audience, which tells us that you have enjoyed the artistic excellence we have offered on the Four Arts stages.

CONCERTS AT THE CHAPEL From its founding, The Four Arts has always hummed with music. This season, that tradition continues on a new stage as restoration work advances on our historic auditorium. Performances move to the Royal Poinciana Chapel, a Palm Beach landmark for more than 120 years, where intimate scale and remarkable acoustics bring audiences closer to the artistry of each performance. The series bears the name of Sanda and Jeremiah Lambert, whose transformative Centennial Campaign gift ensures that world-class music remains a Four Arts signature for generations to come.

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center returns to The Four Arts for a festive program of Baroque delights.

Enjoy the bustling energy of bassoon concertos by Antonio Vivaldi, the majesty of an oboe concerto by Benedetto Marcello, and a fluttering flute concerto by C.P.E. Bach. Trumpet works by Giuseppe Torelli and Georg Philipp Telemann complete the program, ringing in the holiday season with triumphant fanfare.

Pianist Aaron Diehl, hailed for his “melodic precision, harmonic erudition, and elegant restraint” (The New York Times), blurs the lines between jazz and classical music in his creative and engaging programs. He brings his jazz trio to The Four Arts for an exciting collaboration with soprano Mikaela Bennett, a recent recipient of a Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award.

They perform a carefully curated set of standards and rarelyheard gems, including a stirring song cycle by piano legend André Previn.

The sought-after Canadian trumpeter Jens Lindemann joins Jacobs for a selection of uplifting Baroque delights for organ and trumpet. To conclude, violinist Lun Li and cellist Dmitri Atapine enter the mix for a towering, romantic masterpiece

by Josef Rheinberger.

Acclaimed Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero presents a Spanish-themed evening of keyboard masterpieces. Colorful works by pioneering Spanish composers Isaac Albéniz, Antonio Soler, Enrique Granados, Frederic Mompou, and Alicia de Larrocha are interspersed with infectiously rhythmic, Spanish-influenced miniatures by Frédéric Chopin and Domenico Scarlatti. To close, Montero will bring down the house with Franz Liszt’s beguiling Spanish Rhapsody.

VIOLIN FESTIVAL II WITH CHAD HOOPES & DANBI UM

The violin has a singular, expressive sound and can be played with unthinkable speed, sparkle, and athleticism. It is no wonder that the instrument has been at the heart of the chamber music repertoire for centuries. In an engaging, in-depth festival designed for The Four Arts audience by Artistic Advisor Wu Han, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center presents three concerts that celebrate the many dimensions of the violin.

The festival also features three informative lectures that shed light on the instrument’s extraordinary past, present, and future.

Many great violinists have been brilliant composers themselves.

The Belgian superstar Eugène Ysaÿe wrote astonishing violin solo sonatas, and he also inspired one of the greatest chamber works written by César Franck. Short delights and fancies by virtuoso violinists Henri Vieuxtemps, Henryk Wieniawski, and Fritz Kreisler, reveal the extraordinary technical capabilities of Chamber Music Society’s violinists, and Kreisler’s famed Liebesleid and Liebesfreud offer a heartrending close to the evening.

On this program, three hefty sonatas from different points in time demonstrate the vibrant versatility of the violin.

In Giuseppe Tartini’s hallucinatory “Devil’s Trill” Sonata, the performer must go to demonic depths to pull off the challenges in the score. Ludwig van Beethoven’s fiery “Kreutzer” Sonata and Richard Strauss’s lush Sonata in E-flat major show the instrument thriving in the Classical and Romantic eras.

Niccolò Paganini was accused of making a deal with the devil to gain his finger-flying facility on the violin. You will hear his softer touch in the sweet Cantabile. Then, dip into the instrument’s wild potential with works of Ernest Bloch, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, and Jenö Hubay. The cello gets a star turn in a quartet by Alexander Borodin, and Camille SaintSaëns will bring the audience to their feet with his dramatic Violin Sonata in D minor.

Legendary mandolin player Avi Avital comes to The Four Arts together with French-Canadian chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roy for a rollicking program of concertos from the Baroque era and beyond. He will present beloved mandolin works by Domenico Scarlatti, Antonio Vivaldi, and Charles Avison as well as his own arrangements of inspired keyboard and violin concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach.

We celebrate the majestic organ in the Royal Poinciana Chapel with a powerful recital given by German organist Felix Hell, one of the foremost musicians of our times. He will open the program with Bach’s iconic Toccata and Fugue in D minor, enjoy the early-Romantic fluttering of a Mendelssohn Organ Sonata, and plumb the depths of the instrument with Franz Liszt’s “Ad nos” Fantasy and Fugue. Join us for a pre-concert lecture, where Felix Hell will share more about the music and how the instrument itself works.

DAILEY & VINCENT BLUEGRASS

The billboard-topping, Grammy-nominated bluegrass band Dailey & Vincent have racked up dozens of awards for their ten albums and sell-out tours across the US. This fun, fastfiddling group of star musicians are celebrating the release of their latest record, A Beautiful Life. They will bring a signature blend of bluegrass, country, and gospel to the Four Arts audience in a program of traditional songs and brand-new numbers.

The Viano Quartet, one of the foremost young ensembles in North America, is joined by revered pianist Sir Stephen Hough for a concert of revolutionary piano quintets. The program includes Hough’s own “Red Wedding” Quintet, a ferocious, colorful piece that depicts a terrifying sleighride described in a novel by Willa Cather. The evening will end with the swinging, folk-inspired energy of Antonín Dvořák’s glorious Piano Quintet in A major.

CONCERTS AT THE DIXON This season, Johnson Hall comes alive with an eclectic run of performances, each an intimate evening in one of The Four Arts’ most inviting spaces. Johnson Hall’s smaller scale becomes the season’s signature: a closer view, a warmer room, and a real sense of connection between artist and audience.

This season introduces a new series of Broadway cabaret evenings, bringing the genre’s finest voices up close for programs of song, humor, and the stories behind the spotlight. Hosting is native Floridian and Tony Award nominee Alan Campbell, whose four decades on Broadway, television, film, and concert stages include Sunset Boulevard, Contact, and Mamma Mia!, and performances at the White House for three U.S. Presidents.

Two stars of the Metropolitan Opera will perform a spectacular recital.

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana returns to The Four Arts, bringing the emotion of dance and music just steps away.

CABARET AT THE FOUR ARTS Where Broadway’s fourth wall comes down, and intimate storytelling takes center stage.

Cabaret is theater at its most personal, just a singer, a piano, and a room brought closer together through music, wit, and unscripted moments. For the first time, The Four Arts brings cabaret to Johnson Hall, featuring three of Broadway’s most celebrated voices in a tradition beloved for its charm and spontaneity in equal measure. Your host for the evening will be Tony Award nominee Alan Campbell.

Two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Butz, known for his roles in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Wicked, and Catch Me If You Can, leads a program of delightful Broadway numbers and engaging stories. Friday afternoons at The Four Arts have long meant the movies, and this season the tradition continues down the road. With the generous partnership of Palm Beach Day Academy, the Friday Film Series finds a temporary home at its campus at 241 Seaview Avenue.

Enjoy an intriguing selection of films, documentaries and broadcasts from the world’s great stages. The series brings the cultural vitality of London and New York without having to leave Palm Beach.

The Metropolitan Opera’s celebrated Live in HD series brings the grandeur of Lincoln Center to Palm Beach, capturing the artistry, emotion, and spectacle of the Met’s stage in intimate cinematic detail. This season’s selections span the brilliance of Mozart and Verdi to Puccini’s Wild West, with a special twentieth anniversary celebration, hosted by Renée Fleming. For generations, the O’Keeffe Speaker Series has brought some of the most influential voices in current affairs, arts, science, culture, and media to Palm Beach. This season, the conversation continues at Royal Poinciana Chapel, one of Palm Beach’s most celebrated gathering places, and a fitting setting while renovations continue on The Four Arts campus. Select dates will also take place at the Flagler Museum.

Few series anywhere assemble such range in a single season: a statesman one week, a historian the next, a scientist or filmmaker after that. While the guests and subjects change, the experience remains the same — an hour in conversation with individuals whose work has shaped their fields, followed by the questions, discussions, and reflections that continue long after the lecture ends.

Lectures will be available to members online and to the general public via livestream simulcast at the Dixon Education Building. Please note, during renovation the O’Keeffe speaker series takes place on Mondays.

Each season, the Education Department offers lectures, master classes, workshops, the Beyer Artistin-Residence, and field trips exploring art, drama, literature, music, history, current affairs, and the art of living well.

Open to the public, these programs take place in the Dixon Education Building, a landmarked 1920s structure with a remarkable past. Originally built as Palm Beach’s public school, the building’s historic exterior was carefully preserved during its renovation, while the interior was reimagined for a new century of learning. A schoolhouse then, a schoolhouse still; always a place for continuous learning and curiosity.

MARIE ARANA AMERICANOS! 500 Years of Latinos in the United States of America Date: Mar 4, 2027 Time: 5:30 PM Book signing to follow Latinos are the largest and fastest-growing minority in the United States — and yet their history, diversity, and contributions remain remarkably little known. Marie Arana, Peruvian American author and inaugural Literary Director of the library of Congress, has spent years correcting that. Most recently her book LatinoLand has drawn from hundreds of interviews and years of research that together paint a sweeping, revelatory portrait of a community too often treated as monolithic. A former chair of both the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award juries, Arana draws on history and personal experience to illuminate the resilience and centrality of Latino culture to the American story.

BÉNÉDICTE GADY IN CONVERSATION WITH RUSSELL KELLEY Inside Paris’s Most Intimate Museum: The Musée Nissim de Camondo Date: Feb 11, 2027 Time: 5:30 PM In Paris’s 8th arrondissement, steps from the Parc Monceau, stands one of Europe’s most remarkable and little-known house museums. The Musée Nissim de Camondo was built by banker and collector Moïse de Camondo as a modernized homage to the Petit Trianon at Versailles between 1911 and 1914. Its extraordinary 18th-century collection remains housed within an intact private residence, offering something increasingly rare: a genuine sense of how beauty was once lived with, not merely displayed. The house also stands as a poignant memorial. Moïse de Camondo dedicated it to the memory of his beloved son Nissim, an aviator who lost his life in combat during the First World War. Upon his death, Moïse bequeathed both the mansion and its collections to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, ensuring their preservation for future generations. Opened to the public in 1936, the museum would later become entwined with another chapter of the family’s tragic history when Moïse’s daughter Béatrice and her family were deported in 1943. Bénédicte Gady, Director of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, will join Four Arts member Russell Kelley in conversation to explore the museum as a work of art and a place of memory, and what it means to preserve so singular a heritage.

BEYER ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: Kristin Schnell Kristin Schnell (b. 1968) is a German photographer based on the Baltic Sea. In her staged photographic works, birds become symbolic figures exploring freedom, human confinement, chance, and the complex relationship between humans and animals.

Working without digital manipulation, she creates constructed environments in which unpredictability and curiosity remain essential elements of the image. Her monograph Of Cages and Feathers was published by Kehrer Verlag in 2024. Schnell has received several international awards, including being selected for the Top 50 of the Photolucida Critical Mass in 2024 and 2025, and her work has been exhibited and published internationally.

Through close reading and discussion of Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion, we will examine Jane Austen’s treatment of love and marriage, gender and identity, and class and society, while considering why her novels still speak so powerfully to readers today.

Joseph Luzzi is the Asher B. Edelman Professor of Literature at Bard, where he has taught since 2002. He is the author of eight books, including Dante’s Divine Comedy: A Biography (Princeton University Press, 2024) and Botticelli’s Secret (Norton, 2022), a New Yorker Best Books of 2022 selection and Phi Beta Kappa Ralph Waldo Emerson Award finalist.

Birds are flocking to the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden at the Society of the Four Arts for The High Life: Contemporary Photography and the Birds, on view from December 5, 2026, through May 2, 2027.

Organized by the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography and curated by distinguished photography experts William Ewing and Danaé Panchaud, the exhibition brings together the work of more than fifty contemporary photographers from around the world, including Robert Clark, Tim Flach, Nadav Kander, Karen Knorr, Vik Muniz, Anastasia Samoylova, Kristin Schnell, Hans van Asch, Robert Walker, and Kiki Xue, among others.

Birds have long captivated the human imagination, and photographers have proven no exception to their allure.

Images of birds appear throughout nearly two centuries of photographic history, and to this day they remain a subject of extraordinary demand — requiring patience, technical mastery, and an intimate understanding of avian behavior.

The exhibition draws a range of artistic perspectives: wildlife photographers, some devoted exclusively to birds; conceptual artists who explore the language and paradoxes of photography; and studio practitioners working across portraiture, fashion, documentary, and street photography.

Together, their work offers a multifaceted mediation on the subject.

Rather than organizing the exhibition by species or discipline, The High Life explores the complex and at times paradoxical, relationship between humans and birds, questioning how we observe them and respond to their presence and vice versa.

THE PHILIP HULITAR SCULPTURE GARDEN

The Sculpture Garden first opened in November of 1980, though its story begins earlier. The Four Arts had owned this 2.2-acre expanse since the mid-1960s, but the land remained undeveloped until 1979, when member Mrs. John Clifford Folger invited Philip Hulitar — a celebrated fashion designer and former Four Arts Chairman of the Board — to transform the space into a sculpture garden. Mr. Hulitar not only shaped its design but helped acquire its first works of art. In 1988, the garden was renamed the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden in tribute to his vision and many years of devoted service to the institution.

The garden has continued to evolve, most notably in the mid-2000s, following a series of hurricanes. The Four Arts engaged the landscape architecture firm Morgan Wheelock, Inc. to reimagine both the Sculpture Garden and the Demonstration Garden, which reopened to great acclaim in March 2007. Under the firm’s vision, the Sculpture Garden was transformed into an outdoor fine arts gallery — with new sculptures, refined seating, elegant water features, and a garden pavilion generously donated by Mr. and Mrs. William G. Pannill.

Today, the Sculpture Garden is the most visited destination at The Four Arts and serves as a gathering place and verdant oasis in Palm Beach.

Today, the Demonstration Garden remains an important educational resource for the Palm Beach community, but it has changed over time. In 1956, the landscape architecture firm Innocenti & Webel restored the space after it fell into disrepair and Morgan Wheelock, Inc. redesigned it after a series of hurricanes swept through South Florida in the mid-2000s. FOUR ARTS DEMONSTRATION GARDEN Planted in 1938 by members of The Garden Club of Palm Beach, many of whom were also members of The Society of the Four Arts, the Demonstration Garden was conceived as a presentation garden to educate new residents about the types of plants that thrive in South Florida. RENOVATION UPDATE

In spring 2026, The Society of The Four Arts began the most comprehensive renovation project in the institution’s history.

The project focuses on the west side, with enhancements designed to enhance the visitor experience, refine key artistic and administrative spaces, and unify the campus as a singular cultural destination for the world-class programming in Palm Beach.

The O’Keeffe building is being reimagined with significant upgrades to its performance hall, galleries, and public amenities, while the Rovensky Building will introduce a three-story addition, including a new home for the Children’s Library.

For the duration of construction, the Lake Trail where it passes through the Four Arts campus is closed for safety, with a temporary detour along Seaview Avenue, Cocoanut Row, and the south side of Royal Palm Way.

WHAT TO EXPECT Renovations are underway, but The Four Arts remains open, and we are delighted to welcome you; things just may look a little different.

At the start of the season there will be green fencing around the Esther B. O’Keeffe and John E. Rovensky buildings, the U-shape drive around The Four Arts mall, and portions of The Four Arts south parking lots.

During this time, parking is limited, and we recommend carpooling, drop-off and pick up and rideshare services.

The east side of the campus: the King Library, Dixon Education Building, Demonstration Garden, and Hulitar Garden continue to operate as usual, welcoming members and patrons.

TEMPORARY VENUES Thanks to the generous collaboration of our local partners, we are pleased to present a full season of programming during this period. These temporary settings offer fresh perspectives and new ways to experience all that The Four Arts provides.

Programs ordinarily held in the O’Keeffe and Rovensky buildings will take place at the Palm Beach Day Academy and Royal Poinciana Chapel, with select programs hosted at the Bunker Artspace and the Norton Museum of Art. The Children’s Library has been temporarily relocated to the second floor of the Dixon Education Building.
