R3® CYCLONE

ULTRA HIGH PERFORMANCE WOODSCREWS

Building on the strengths of the R2® & CUTTER® screws the R3® Cyclone sets a new standard for REISSER® woodscrews

Manufactured in the same factory as the CUTTER® using the same world class materials and production facilities this new screw has added features that differentiate it from CUTTER® and offer significant performance advantages.

On the R3® CYCLONE we have replaced the two slots with a new bias thread tip design. Not only does this grab instantly, and give a high speed start, it also acts as a “hole former” pushing the wood away and forming a clear path for the main threads to follow. As no fibres are removed, maximum pull out value is maintained. The removal of slots also allows this screw to be used effectively in plastic expansion plugs.

The main thread pitch and pattern is the same tried and tested deep wide pattern as is found on the CUTTER® and R2® and the yellow passivation and lubrication gives the performance that REISSER® customers expect.

Another major change is the head design. We have replaced the ribs and tucks from the CUTTER® screw with a new R3®CYCLONE rib design. This still provides excellent countersinking in most materials but has the major advantage that it gives an overall “flat” profile which allows the head to sit and properly engage with recesses in hinges and hardware. This answers a demand for a fast start “self drilling” hinge screw.

REISSER® Heavy Duty Roofing Fasteners are designed to offer a versatile fixing option for many roofing applications including securing thick insulation profiles, tiles or panels.

Manufactured using high strength materials they provide a secure fixing even for heavy loads under harsh conditions of high winds, heavy rain and temperature variance. The buttress threads give very high pull out values, the head design provides high clamping force and the coating offers very high corrosion resistance - 1800hrs Salt Spray Test NSS resistance (ASTM B117-18) and 15 Cycle Kesternich test , no Red Rust (DIN 50018 1997), 1500hrs Salt Spray Test no Red Rust (GB/T 10125)

The self-drilling point allows fast penetration into timber and can also fix into 16-22 gauge steel (min 20mm penetration) whilst the larger thread diameter gives fast and straight driving into timber. The thick shank adds strength and increases resistance to shear loads – important in pitched roof applications.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Hammer drill with an SDS bit until rebar is encountered

Disconnect the machine, switch off hammer action and remove the hammer bit from the chuck

Select rotary mode (hammer off), and insert the rebar cutter into the chuck

Select the appropriate drilling speed and reconnect the machine.

Place the tip of the rebar cutter in the hole, so it sits on top of the rebar

Apply firm (not heavy) pressure, and commence drilling

When the cutter has passed through the rebar, withdraw the bit from the hole and disconnect the machine

Remove the rebar cutter and revert back to the SDS hammer bit

Switch hammer action back on, and reconnect the machine

reserves the right to deliver up to 10% more or less than the quantity ordered. The quantity delivered shall be deemed to be the quantity ordered and the Customer shall have no right to reject the Goods or to claim damages but must pay for the Goods delivered at the price agreed.

4. DELIVERY

4.2 Unless agreed in writing and signed on behalf of the Supplier all Goods are supplied ex-works of the Supplier.

4.3 Where the Goods are handed to a carrier for carriage to the Customer or to a port for export any such carrier shall be deemed to be the Agent of the Customer and not of the Supplier for all purposes.

4.4 The Customer shall inspect the Goods supplied immediately upon receipt and no liability for non delivery, partial loss or damage to the Goods occurring prior to delivery will attach to the Supplier unless claims to that effect are notified in writing by the Customer to the Supplier (with a copy to the carrier if applicable). (i) Within ten days of despatch for partial loss or damage or non compliance with the Contract; or (ii) Within five days of the date the invoice is received for non delivery.

4.5 If the Customer shall fail to give notice in accordance with Condition 4.4 above the Goods shall be deemed to be in all respects in accordance with the Contract and the Customer shall be bound to accept and pay for the same accordingly.

4.6 If the Supplier fails to deliver the Goods, its liability shall be limited to the costs and expenses incurred by the Customer in obtaining replacement goods of similar description and quality in
