The beginning of each new school year brings a sense of excitement, possibility, and hope for our students and faculty alike. As I begin my first school year as Fountain Valley School’s ninth Head of School, I too am filled with an incredible sense of optimism and belief in the boundless potential that lies within this remarkable school community. Providing a robust and transformative secondary education in such an incredible landscape is, without question, one of the distinguishing features of Fountain Valley School. I hope to connect with you in some way in the year ahead – whether by phone, email, Zoom, at an FVS event, or here on campus.

In order to provide all of the educational resources and materials that are needed to produce the best possible education for every FVS student, we rely each year on the philanthropic generosity of our alumni, parents, faculty, and friends. With tuition revenue covering 72% of the School’s operating budget, the remaining balance of the operating costs comes from gifts to the Annual Fund and an annual 4.5% draw from the FVS Endowment Fund.

I am grateful to all who have given in the past and supported the School throughout the years. I hope you will all continue to consider making Fountain Valley School one of your highest philanthropic priorities this year, as your generosity will help to ensure that our current and future students, as well as our faculty and staff, have the needed funding to offer an extraordinary educational experience. COLLABORATING WITH YOUR SCHOOL FOR THE GOOD OF ALL

The FVS Annual Fund covers the difference between revenue from tuition and the total cost of our educational programs and school operations. As such, the Annual Fund is the only source of flexible and readily-available funding for the School, and Annual Fund dollars directly benefit every FVS student and faculty member daily.

As we begin this new chapter, under new leadership, we will continue improving upon our own historical foundations, and Fountain Valley needs your support to help maintain our momentum as we continue to evolve.

We hope that you will consider prioritizing the Annual Fund in your gift to FVS this year, as your contribution immediately supports our areas of greatest need. And while our financial goal is important, participation in giving is one of the strongest indicators of our community’s support for the School and thus is just as meaningful.

CASA SERENA SOCIETY

THE CASA SERENA SOCIETY IS THE CORNERSTONE OF ANNUAL FUNDRAISING. Established in 1978, the Casa Serena Society serves to recognize those alumni, parents, and friends who make leadership gifts to FVS. Casa Serena Society members contribute more than 80% of the Annual Fund goal.

ANY gift of $1,930+ to the School will induct you into the Casa Serena Society and comes with invitations to special events.

PLANNED GIVING: JOIN THE ELIZABETH SAGE HARE SOCIETY

The Elizabeth Sage Hare Society honors individuals who have included Fountain Valley School in their estate plans. If you would like to include FVS in your estate plans and become an FVS Legacy Donor, please contact Margie Sherer at msherer@fvs.edu or (719) 391-5315.
