Visconti Smartouch Tubular Nib The Smartouch Tubular Nib, with its special shape, is turned from a capillary tube made of Chromium 18. The tube precisely wraps around the feed, resulting in a unique shape and allowing the user to fill his pen without the need to dip the entire grip and nib section into ink. This results in a cleaner and more efficient fill and, due to the nib’s uniquely positioned air hole and design, the nib will stay wet for longer before drying out. The nib is available in F, XF, M, B and Stub widths.

Visconti Mosquito Filler included Visconti Mosquito Filler The Visconti Mosquito ink-filling adaptor may only be used together with the new Smartouch nib. This interesting device attaches to the end of the pen and is used to fill the pen with ink. The adaptor avoids dipping the pen nib directly into ink and at the same time every last drop of ink will be used from the ink bottle.

The Van Gogh Impressionist Collection offers a range of pens inspired by paintings from one of the world’s most acclaimed artists. The original Visconti Van Gogh Collection enjoyed more than ten years of success worldwide and provided an exceptional range of pens in a multitude of colors. Three years since the last colors were retired, Visconti has provided further inspiration and innovation – a range of writing instruments inspired not only by the artist’s color and technique but also by the emotion and technique of the individual paintings themselves. Through meticulous and painstaking choice of color and palette mix, each Visconti pen is unique, representing a specific Van Gogh painting. The names of the painting and artist are delicately engraved around the pen ring, and each pen is packed in a unique gift box that is complemented with a faithfully reproduced canvas of the painting. Rembrandt succeeded like nobody else to meld into his works of art the earthly and spiritual aspects of the human being. Rembrandt Eco-Roller Once again Visconti brings innovation and creative flair to the pen industry. The Rembrandt Eco-Roller combines Italian design with German engineering. Schmidt of Germany, leading innovators in writing technology, has perfected ink flow technology to create a rollerball system that writes and fills like a fountain pen. Fill the rollerball using regular fountain pen cartridges or alternatively dip the rollerball head into ink and use a converter (enclosed) to draw in the ink – you can now use a rollerball with any color ink you choose. Homo Sapiens Collection

Made of LAVA with a Flexible 23kt Dreamtouch Palladium Nib More than 5,000 years ago, with the invention of writing, the pre-history of humankind ceased and the Homo Sapiens marked the dawn of human history. The first great civilizations arose and the development of sciences such as geometry, astronomy and engineering commenced. Conceived for serious writers, the material comprising this pen is as ancient as the world itself: lava from Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy (Europe’s largest active volcano). Nevertheless, it has several characteristics that make it unique to and ideal for writing instrument manufacturing. Visconti has produced a material containing over 50% of pure basaltic lava, catalysed together with resin in a patented formula. The Homo Sapien writing instruments have a feel unlike any other and are available in bronze trim and also with stainless marine steel trim. As a result of the Dreamtouch 23kt palladium nib, the fountain pen is like writing on air!

The bronze trim fountain pen features Visconti’s high power filler, made of titanium, and the Steel Age fountain pens are piston-filled, and each is available in M, F, XF, B, BB and 1.3mm Stub widths.

Model T Collection Prior to 1908, the automobile was considered a handcrafted luxury item, intended for a limited public. Henry Ford’s vision for the ‘Model T’ was to build a simple and economical car for the American middle class. Inspired by Ford’s revolutionary car, Stipula’s Model T is available as a fountain pen, speedball (a special rollerball that can be charged with ink directly from a bottle or a cartridge!) and twist ballpoint. Between the 15th and 18th centuries, Florence and Tuscany developed a cult of cultural beauty based largely on the policies of the Medici family. Rather than focusing on political or military matters, they staked all on art and culture, so that their city was transformed into a new Athens, a microcosm of beauty, and financed many of the greatest artists who ever lived. Stipula has always honored the prosperous land of Tuscany and Tuscany Dreams represents a thanksgiving to the Medici family and the painters, sculptors, architects and scientists who have made Florence and Tuscany an enchanted place that the whole world envies. Gladiator Collection

The myth of ancient Gladiators, the armed combatants who entertained audiences in the Roman Empire in violent confrontations with other gladiators, wild animals, and condemned criminals, has been celebrated throughout time. Some gladiators were volunteers who risked their legal and social standing and their lives by appearing in the arena. Stipula has embodied this valour in a new collection with a high sculpture artwork: the band of the pen represents the Roman Coliseum, an icon of the gladiators’ fights, while the top of the pen is a typical shield with the main elements of the Gladiators: a net, which was used to harness the opponent, a helmet and a trident. The Gladius, the famous short sword of Romans, is also represented by the clip of the pen, while the ring at the bottom of the barrel is the reproduction of the studs around the gladiators’ shield.

Limited Edition Demonstrator One thing Twain would not have envisioned, given the technology of the era, was a crystal clear pen where you could see the filling mechanism in action and watch as the ink filled the “stomach”. Now for the first time in the long history of the Crescent fountain pen, a crystal clear Limited Edition Demonstrator has been successfully produced. To achieve this feat, many technical hurdles had to be overcome. Not only must the barrel be polished inside and out, but internal parts must be finely finished and care taken during the final assembly process to eliminate dust, glue and other unsightly artifacts. Each pen is individually numbered and only 1898 pens will be produced worldwide. The flexible and smooth writing iridium nibs are available in M, F and Stub widths. Filling, of course, is via bottle only, but even that is easier with a Crescent than any other fountain pen and can be done with just one hand. Simply dip the nib into your favorite ink and squeeze the crescent a few times and you’re done!

Taking Care of Your Fountain Pen • Use your pen! The ink in a fountain pen flows most smoothly when the pen is used regularly.

• Do not press down hard on the nib when the pen won’t write. Excessive pressure can damage the nib. When a pen does not write well, it is often because the pen needs to be cleaned and refilled.

• Cap the pen properly by placing the cap onto the barrel rather than dropping the barrel into the cap which can result in ink spilling into the cap.

• Write on quality stationery which is neither too absorbent, nor coated (giving a slick writing surface) nor too fibrous (releasing fibers which can clog your pen).

• When traveling by airplane, your pen should be completely full of ink or completely empty. Air trapped in a partially filled ink cartridge or converter can expand with changes in altitude and cause a fountain pen to leak.

• Place the cap on the pen when not in use; otherwise the ink can evaporate or thicken.

• When not in use, a fountain pen containing ink should be stored in an upright position (nib facing the sky). If your pen will not be used for a week or so, it is best to remove the ink and clean the pen with cool water.

• To clean your pen, first empty the ink. Use your converter or built-in filling mechanism to fill and flush the pen with cool water. Repeat several times until the water runs clear. For very clogged pens with built-in filling mechanisms, fill the pen with cool water and let the water sit overnight. Further, leave the uncapped pen soaking overnight in a glass of cool water, nib facing downwards, entirely submerged in the water. If a converter fill, remove the nib/grip section unit and allow it to soak in the water overnight. Use a soft cloth to wipe excess water from the nib when drying.
