WELCOME FROM OUR MAYOR

I hope that whether you’re picking up the latest edition of this annual publication as a longtime resident, a business owner, a visitor, or a newcomer, that you’ve found your place right here in Fountain Inn!

Our small town has seen tremendous growth over these last five years. All the while though, we’ve kept that “small town charm” that makes us the best city in America to call home.

From our walkable, quaint, and vibrant downtown, to one of our many parks, to our beautiful neighborhoods - Fountain Inn is full of everything you’d want in your hometown.

Throughout the year, our community is brimming with activity for everyone in the family. Commerce Park, situated right in the heart of downtown, features an outdoor amphitheater and covered farmer’s market. The Visitors Center located in the Park houses our Chamber of Commerce and Fountain Inn History Museum. Commerce Park is home to our summer concerts, seasonal farmers market, and many of our other events throughout the year.

Around Commerce Park you’ll find shops, restaurants, and much more around our historic Main Street district. With nearly two dozen businesses opened over the last four years, we’ve seen some great growth in our downtown. Stay tuned though for more - we’re about to upgrade the southern portion of our Main Street, and new businesses are in the works a block off of Main Street at the old Flour Mill and surrounding properties. Big things are in store for our downtown!

Outside of downtown, residents and visitors can enjoy numerous parks. Our always active Emanuel Sullivan Sports Complex features baseball fields, football fields, and a large shaded playground, with a passive trail behind it that winds its way from the ball fields to another park, Fairview Street Park with basketball courts. Our PD Terry Park is another active recreation site just off of Main Street, and our two neighborhood parks, Georgia Street and Sanctified Hill, are great to take the kids to any day of the week.

Sanctified Hill Park will complete its total facelift in 2023, a $3 million upgrade that will include new playground equipment, basketball courts, field space, and picnic shelters. The trail behind Emanuel Sullivan Sports Complex is also set for an overhaul for better bike and pedestrian traffic.

Our schools continue to be excellent on all fronts. Our elementary schools (Fountain Inn Elementary, Bryson Elementary, and Rudolph Gordon School) are all within a very short drive wherever you live in town, and our middle schools (Bryson Middle, Rudolph Gordon School) are also nearby. Fountain Inn High School is entering its third year in the fall of 2023, and has continued to breathe renewed community spirit into our town. The “First Friday” parade is held each year in August to celebrate the start of fall sports and our marching band, and then Friday Night Lights take over and you can find nearly the whole town at the High School’s stadium for home games.

Fountain Inn is home to so much, but most importantly, it’s home to wonderful people who care for each other. We are a resilient community that is beaming with pride for our hometown, and we stand together as we move into the future.

It is an honor to serve as Mayor of this community, and I look forward to seeing you soon!

Welcome home, to Fountain Inn.
