ACLU of Oklahoma: FLM has maintained a longstanding and impactful partnership with the ACLU of Oklahoma, collaborating on numerous events and campaigns throughout 2024. Together, we co-hosted the Tenants Know Your Rights event, empowering individuals to understand their housing rights. We also worked alongside ACLU OK to organize the NCLEJ Community Forum, where community members shared their experiences with the Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD), learning how to file formal complaints and leverage their stories for a potential investigation into police practices. Additionally, FLM joined forces with the ACLU on 1 in 2 Campaign Training. FLM also participated in the ACLU Advocacy Day, strengthening our collaborative efforts to advance civil liberties and rights across Oklahoma.

Black Lives Matter OKC: FLM continues to have a strong relationship with BLM OKC, who for the past two years has hosted our work in their Wellness Center. Because of this generosity, FLM has been able to hold training, restorative circles, and town hall meetings alongside BLM OKC in the space. FLM also partook in multiple food giveaways to more than 2,000 Oklahoma community members throughout the year.

Civic Learning Coalition: FLM’s partnership with the Civic Learning Coalition has been instrumental in advancing civic education and community empowerment. In March, 2024, we co-hosted a 1 in 2 Campaign Training in Oklahoma City, bringing together local educators and community leaders to foster dialogue and collaboration. This event highlighted the critical role of civic learning in shaping liberatory narratives and equipping communities to address systemic challenges. Through this partnership, FLM and the Civic Learning Coalition continue to build meaningful connections that inspire transformative action and education.

Diversion Hub: FLM has built a meaningful and enduring partnership with Diversion Hub, working together to address the systemic challenges faced by justice-impacted individuals. In April 2024, FLM and Diversion Hub co-hosted the 1 in 2 Campaign Training in Oklahoma City, empowering participants to build liberatory narratives that challenge stigma and support reentry efforts. This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to reducing barriers for formerly incarcerated individuals and fostering equitable opportunities. Together, FLM and Diversion Hub continue to champion transformative change and uplift the voices of those directly impacted by the justice system.

Dream Action Oklahoma: FLM has developed a strong and impactful partnership with Dream Action Oklahoma, collaborating on key events and campaigns throughout 2024 to support marginalized communities, specifically immigrants. One notable event was the 1 in 2 Campaign Training in Oklahoma City, co-hosted by FLM and Dream Action Oklahoma. This training brought together individuals from various backgrounds to discuss the challenges faced by people with justice system involvement, while highlighting the interconnectedness of social justice issues. Our continued collaboration with Dream Action Oklahoma strengthens our shared commitment to advancing justice, equity, and opportunities for all Oklahomans, particularly those impacted by systemic oppression.

The Education and Employment Ministry: FLM’s partnership with The Education and Employment Ministry (TEEM) in 2024 was centered around empowering incarcerated individuals, particularly women, to pursue higher education and transform their lives. On September 12, 2024, Aurelius joined TEEM volunteers and the women at Mabel Bassett Correctional Center for an evening of conversation and study, supporting their educational journeys. This collaboration reflects FLM’s commitment to providing opportunities for growth, education, and empowerment, helping to break the cycles of incarceration and equip individuals with the tools they need to thrive post-release.

Freedom Oklahoma: FLM has forged a longstanding and impactful partnership with Freedom Oklahoma, working together on multiple events and campaigns throughout 2024 to advance justice and solidarity for marginalized communities. On March 26, we co-hosted the 1 in 2 Campaign Training in Oklahoma City, focusing on the interconnectedness of pro-2SLGBTQ+ and liberatory narratives, highlighting the shared struggles and victories of Black, queer, and trans communities. FLM also participated in Freedom Oklahoma’s People’s Hearing, a powerful event that provided a platform for queer and trans students and community leaders to share the impact of harmful legislation. The hearing honored lost community members, including Nex Benedict and Fern Galindo, while fostering solidarity among community members and elected officials who are deeply invested in supporting trans rights. FLM continues to be honored to stand alongside Freedom Oklahoma, amplifying the voices of our trans siblings and advocating for a more just and inclusive society.

Julius Jones Institute: One of We the Eastside’s strongest partners, FLM and the Julius Jones Institute have flourished this year through strategy development and the never-to-be-taken-for-granted gift of showing up.

Justice for Greenwood: FLM collaborated with Justice for Greenwood to host a watch party for the court hearings of Black Wall Street Massacre survivors.

Let’s Fix This: FLM’s partnership with Let’s Fix This exemplifies our shared dedication to civic engagement and empowering communities to participate actively in democracy. In 2024, we collaborated on impactful events, including the Candidate Meet & Greet on October 17, where attendees connected with candidates to discuss key issues and solutions for Oklahoma. Additionally, FLM joined forces with Let’s Fix This, Vote for Change, and OCCJ for the November Community Walk, an energizing effort focused on mobilizing voters and fostering a culture of electoral participation. Together, these initiatives highlight our collective mission to inspire informed, active civic involvement.

Live Free OKC: FLM has built a strong and enduring partnership with Live Free through collaborative efforts aimed at advancing justice and peace in Oklahoma City. In 2024, FLM was proud to participate in Live Free OKC’s Peace Needs Conference. During this three-day event, Tevin and aurelius attended sessions focused on policies and practices designed to foster peace and safety throughout the city. This partnership continues to deepen as we work together to address systemic issues and create lasting change for marginalized communities in Oklahoma.

Matriarch: FLM is proud to continue its partnership with Matriarch, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting Indigenous communities, through our collaborative efforts in 2024. We co-hosted the 1 in 2 Campaign Training in Oklahoma City, where FLM and Matriarch brought together community members to discuss the impact of mass incarceration and the intersectionality of social justice issues. This partnership underscores our shared commitment to empowering marginalized communities, particularly Indigenous populations, and working towards justice and equity for all. By joining forces with Matriarch, FLM continues to strengthen our advocacy for transformative change and inclusive opportunities across Oklahoma.

Nappy Roots Books: FLM’s partnership with Nappy Roots Books in 2024 highlighted our shared commitment to raising awareness and sparking important conversations around social justice. During the African Liberation Day Event, FLM’s Dana participated in a powerful panel discussing the impacts of colonialism, spanning from the African diaspora to Palestine. This event, hosted by Nappy Roots Books, provided a platform for dialogue and solidarity among diverse communities, further strengthening our collective efforts to address the enduring legacies of colonialism and promote liberation.

National Council for Law & Economic Justice: our national partners who support FLM through the Oklahoma Privacy Coalition and Community Walks, providing vital legal expertise as we work to minimize the surveillance arm of the carceral state.

NE OKC Renaissance & Northeast OKC Neighborhood Coalition: continued to show up for We, the Eastside’s Community Walks and provide incredible ideas to the action planning of organizing the Eastside.

Oklahoma Appleseed Center for Law & Justice: FLM’s partnership with the Oklahoma Appleseed Center for Law & Justice in 2024 focused on advocating for the rights and justice of survivors within the criminal legal system. On Survivor Justice Day, FLM was proud to be part of the Criminalized Survivor Coalition, which works to amplify the voices of those who have experienced both trauma and criminalization. Together with Oklahoma Appleseed, FLM contributed to the day’s efforts to raise awareness, educate the public, and push for legal reforms that support and protect survivors, ensuring they receive the justice and resources they deserve.

The Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice (OOCJ): FLM’s longstanding partnership with the Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice (OCCJ) reflects our shared commitment to advancing equity and social justice in Oklahoma. In 2024, FLM proudly participated in two impactful OCCJ events. At the Breaking Through the Noise panel, aurelius joined nonprofit leaders to discuss the challenges of advocacy work in Oklahoma and innovative strategies for driving systemic change. Additionally, Tevin, our Community Building Coordinator, spoke on the Building a Movement panel, which brought together leaders from diverse sectors to launch the Community in Action Coalition, a vital initiative uniting organizations for collective action. Through our partnership with OCCJ, FLM continues to strengthen networks and drive progress for a more just and equitable society.

Progress OKC: FLM believes economic mobility happens when community resources are strengthened, a shared principle with our partners Progress OKC who support We, the Eastside and SAFE Commune, and who we show up for their work with BlPOC-owned entrepreneurs.

Red Dirt Collective: FLM’s longstanding partnership with Red Dirt Collective has been pivotal in fostering community-driven change and advancing social justice. We co-hosted a 1 in 2 Campaign Training in Norman, which drew a fantastic turnout and engaged participants in meaningful discussions about building liberatory narratives and addressing systemic inequities. This collaboration highlights our shared dedication to empowering individuals and communities through education, advocacy, and collective action. Together, FLM and Red Dirt Collective continue to inspire and equip communities to drive transformative progress.

Restorative Justice Institute of Oklahoma: Our partners in restorative justice in Tulsa, RJIOK and FLM continue to make eachother’s work all the better for the communities we serve in Oklahoma’s urban hubs.

The Square One Project: Through the final Roundtable on Values and Justice FLM was able to connect with dozens of leading advocates in the criminal legal space to commit to changing the narratives that plague our criminal legal system.

Terence Crutcher Foundation: FLM is honored to maintain a longstanding partnership with the Terence Crutcher Foundation, united in the mission to uplift marginalized voices and advance social justice. In February, we collaborated to host the 1 in 2 Campaign Building a Liberatory Narrative Training. This training highlighted the interconnected struggles of those impacted by mass incarceration, systemic racism, and police violence, fostering a shared vision for justice and equity. FLM’s partnership with the Terence Crutcher Foundation reflects a deep commitment to community-driven solutions and transformative change.

Tulsa Equity Alliance: FLM partnered with Tulsa Equity Alliance for FLM’s 1 in 2 Campaign.

Tulsa Intersectional Care Network: TICN helped to amplify FLM’s 1 in 2 Campaign.

Vote for Change: FLM’s partnership with Vote for Change reflects our shared commitment to increasing voter turnout and empowering communities to engage in the democratic process. In November 2024, we collaborated on the Community Walk, a dynamic event dedicated to getting out the vote. Together with Vote for Change, Let’s Fix This, and OCCJ, we worked to energize and mobilize local communities, emphasizing the importance of participation in shaping equitable and representative governance. This partnership continues to advance our mission of building civic power and fostering transformative change through collective action.
