A New Library for Silverdale

Project Update Volume 2: Friends of the Silverdale Library Last month, we kicked off our fundraising efforts with the

Silverdale Community Campaign launch and a Do It Yourself (DIY) Virtual Fundraiser. Your generosity and vision towards making a new Library for Silverdale has made this investment possible.

We also wouldn’t be in the position we are today without the

support and hard work of the Friends of the Silverdale Library.

The Story Begins The Friends have been supporting the Silverdale branch for nearly 70 years. This all-volunteer group relies on used book sales to provide critical funding for the Library. While the Friend’s primary purpose is to provide support for library programs, they have also provided capital funding for building projects.

The Friends began preparing for a new library once the need was identified over 30 years ago.

Through book sales, they saved every nickel, quarter and dollar, being the first to donate $100,000 toward the Community Campaign.

The Friends, in partnership with your generosity, are making this long-awaited dream a reality.
