A New Library for Silverdale
Project Update Volume 3: Realizing Our Dream Through our partnership with Central Kitsap School District, the new
library in Silverdale is a tremendous opportunity to meet students where they are. The Library will be a safe place for youth to go after school
without ever leaving campus, giving young patrons and their families a real sense of belonging.
The Story Continues Our long-awaited dream of creating dedicated space in Silverdale for children, tweens and teens is becoming a reality! At more than double the current library’s size, the new library offers our youngest patrons room to learn and grow. Our librarians can’t wait for the opportunity to provide more classes and events and expanded services for the community. New computers, printing and wireless service will be critical throughout the school year and beyond. And a variety of meeting and reading spaces, small and large, will foster collaborative projects or simply create places to relax with friends. Last month, the Friends of the Silverdale Library officially kicked off the Silverdale Community Campaign! They’ve raised $100,000 for the new Library and are challenging the community to match their gift. Together, we are building a true community campus for Central Kitsap. Sincerely,
Wendy Kile
Executive Director
Stories will come to life through imagination and play in the new kid’s area.
