Why Cruising is the Ultimate Holiday Choice in 2026 The cruise industry goes from strength to strength, with more people than ever choosing to holiday afloat. With over 300 current ocean-going cruise ships and a further 70 brand new ships launching over the next 10 years, this is a travel sector committed to growth and innovation. From family-friendly adventures to high-end cultural experiences and expedition journeys, the cruise industry has thousands of itineraries to choose from and there truly is a cruise for everyone.

Short voyages of five days or less have seen a significant increase over the last few years, as travellers new to cruising try an initial short trip to test their sea legs. Consider setting sail from the UK to Europe, Norway or around the UK coastline to discover the joys of cruising before committing to a longer itinerary.

Mid length trips of 7-14 days are still the core of cruising but there has also been a rise in longer
