OUR HERITAGE Celebrating our 70th anniversary this year, Saga was born in 1951 as an off-peak holiday company for retired holidaymakers.

We went from strength to strength under the leadership of our founder Sidney De Haan, and later his son Sir Roger De Haan CBE. In 1997, we expanded with the launch of Saga Cruises, our very own cruise line. Ever since, we have sailed our smaller ships to a variety of destinations around the world.

OUR ALL-BALCONY SISTER SHIPS Beautiful. Luxurious. Spacious.

Our boutique ships were designed to deliver a cruise experience not available anywhere else.

Smaller than other new builds, they are beautiful all-balcony sister ships.

Yet despite their smaller size, they are grand and spacious. You won’t feel crowded or hemmed in, with no more than 999 other guests aboard, and plenty of spaces filled with natural light.

Although they are sister ships, they are not twins. Each has their own décor, character, and a different selection of restaurants. In fact, their interiors are every bit as beautiful as the outside, with bespoke artwork from British artists, and hundreds of intricate design details.

Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure were also the first ships to have been verified for all health and hygiene measures by Lloyd’s Register. Known as Shield+ this is independent verification that they are strictly operating remove to the latest safely guidelines.

This cruise reveals five Canary Islands, bookended with visits to 3,000-year-old Cadiz and the verdant island of Madeira.

Depart 1700. 3,000-year-old Cadiz is Western Europe’s oldest continually inhabited city since its founding by the ancient seafaring Phoenicians. Key landmarks include the Baroque and neoclassical cathedral with its yellow dome and the adjoining El Sagarario, the Roman amphitheatre, and Castillo de Santa Catalaina. Day 7. Arrecife, Lanzarote. Arrive 0800.

Depart 2000. Named in Spanish after the reef that edges its shoreline, this relatively sleepy port’s origins can be seen in the whitewashed fishermen’s cottages of El Charco de San Gines. From Arrecife, you can discover the vast lava fields and crater-studded landscapes of Timanfaya National Park.

Day 8. Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

Often referred to as ‘a continent in miniature’, nearly half of Gran Canaria has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the highlights will be revealed on an included sightseeing excursion. The subtropical capital of Las Palmas is set beside two broad bays and features cafelined squares and courtyards overflowing with exotic fruits, flowers and palms.

Day 9. Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura. Arrive 0800.

Depart 2000. Fuerteventura is ringed by beaches and blessed with a mild climate.

In the capital, Puerto del Rosario, discover 19th-century sights, including Nuestra Señora del Rosario church.

Day 10. Santa Cruz, Tenerife.

Arrive 0800. Depart 2300. Tenerife is crowned by the World Heritage site, Mount Teide. Its capital Santa Cruz has a mix of old and new sights, from the central square of Plaza de Espana which was built in 1929 to the auditorium, an expressionist

Day 11. Santa Cruz, La Palma.

BOOKING YOUR CRUISE Age qualification: Saga cruises are for anyone aged 50 and over.

A travelling companion or family member travelling with you may be aged 40 or over.

How our discounts work: On all our cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each grade at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% available on selected grades. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce, until those selected cabins are sold. This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the discounted fare applicable at the time of going to print. Please note that during peak booking periods discounts can reduce quickly. Please call us or visit our website for the most up-to-date prices.

Pricing: We do not impose surcharges. Once booked, the cost of your cruise package cannot be increased unless you amend your booking. We reserve the right not to be legally bound in the case of incorrect pricing and acknowledgement of such an error does not mean acceptance of it.

Cruise Price Promise: Should we ever reduce our prices or introduce a new special offer after you book, we will calculate the price difference and pass the value of any possible saving back to you (optional ad-hoc services are excluded). This applies as long as the discounted cruise is exactly the same package offered under exactly the same terms of sale (which means the full terms that apply to your holiday contract, including your cabin grade and whether your cabin is allocated at the time of booking or at embarkation). In calculating any possible saving due, we’ll take into consideration all offers and discounts that were applied at the time of booking and compare the overall price that you’ve been charged with the current price. We will pass on the value of the saving in the form of a higher-grade cabin, on-board credit, or other value-added benefit.

Special offers: In the case of discounted prices and other special offers, please note that there are only a limited number of places available at the special offer prices. We reserve the right to extend, reduce or withdraw the offers at any time, without notice. Selected offers cannot be booked online.

Sold out cruises and advance registrations: If you are interested in a cruise that has sold out, call the team on 0800 504 505 and we will register your interest. Should any cabins become available at a later date, we will contact you. We also operate an advance registration scheme whereby you can register your interest for cruises that are not yet on sale for a fully-refundable deposit of £90 per person. Once you have made an advance registration we will contact you before the cruises go on general sale giving you opportunity to be the first to book. Making an advance registration gives you the opportunity to secure your choice of cabin at the best possible discount.

Guarantee Cabins: The traditional way to book a cruise is to reserve your cabin number at the time of booking. However, if you’ve decided what type of cabin you want, but don’t have a preference for a

particular cabin or bed configuration, then our Standard Balcony/ Single Standard Balcony Guarantees could be for you. You are guaranteed the minimum grade cabin in the category shown, just not the specific cabin. This will be allocated to you later on, sometimes as you embark the ship. If you choose not to accept your allocated cabin, which could be located anywhere on the ship, this will be treated as a cancellation by you and cancellation charges will be payable in accordance with our booking conditions. Insufficient bookings: If we need to cancel your cruise due to insufficient support we would do so before the balance due date.

Optional ad-hoc services: We provide you with the option to specifically request extras which are in addition to, or adaptations of, our standard packages. Prices for optional ad-hoc services such as extensions, extra accommodation, upgrades, additional flights that are not part of a standard Saga allocation and domestic flights (‘ad-hoc service’) can vary depending on when you book. Please note that adding an ad-hoc service may result in additional non-refundable charges to our standard packages due to changes in flight dates, changes to our standard allocated accommodation periods and additional costs passed to us from third party suppliers. They may also result in an additional or higher non-refundable deposit being payable. You will be notified of the total price of your holiday and any increase to your deposit prior to booking.

PAYING FOR YOUR CRUISE Deposits: When you make your booking, you must pay a deposit of £200 per person or 15% of the cruise cost, whichever is the greater, up to a maximum of £1,000 per person; Certain cruises may require an additional or higher non-refundable deposit or full payment. You will be advised if this is the case at the time of booking.

Balance: The balance of the price of your travel arrangements must be paid at least 90 days before departure. Unless you are otherwise advised, bookings made after the balance due date (as set out above) must be paid in full at the time of booking and we cannot confirm your booking until full payment is received. Payments can be made by credit card, debit card or cheque. If the deposit and/or balance is not paid in time, we reserve the right to cancel your travel arrangements. If the balance is not paid in time, we shall retain your deposit to cover costs incurred.

If you are denied boarding in any of these circumstances, this will be treated as a cancellation by you and cancellation charges may apply.

Further, to avoid the spread of any viral or bacterial illness on board including, without limitation, COVID-19, we may deny boarding to any passenger who displays symptoms of any such illness or who in our reasonable opinion may be at risk of having contracted any such illness. If you are denied boarding in these circumstances, you will not be entitled to a refund but you may amend your cruise to a different date.

COVID-19 vaccinations: It is a mandatory requirement for embarkation on our ships that all passengers must have been vaccinated against COVID-19 using a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the UK’s Medical and Healthcare Regulatory Authority. You will be required to provide evidence to our reasonable satisfaction that you have received the full course of such vaccination not less than 14 days prior to departure. Please note: In the interest of health and safety of fellow passengers and crew, it is a condition of travel on our ships that passengers must use the hand sanitisers provided when embarking and disembarking, and while on board, the ships, along with other hygiene measures as instructed.

We also reserve the right to refuse carriage if the design of the vessel and/or the port infrastructure and equipment would make carriage unsafe or not operationally feasible. We reserve the right to require that a disabled passenger or a passenger of reduced mobility is accompanied by another fare paying person capable of providing assistance to ensure compliance with any applicable safety requirement or law or if the design of the vessel and/or the port infrastructure and equipment means that a disabled passenger or person of reduced mobility cannot be carried in a safe or operationally feasible manner without the assistance of another person. Please advise us at the time of booking if you or any member of your party has reduced mobility, require a specially adapted cabin or would require assistance in an emergency, or as soon as possible before departure should there be a change in circumstances. If you do not inform us of such a condition we will not be liable if any airline (where applicable) refuses to accept you or any member of your party as a passenger. If you are disabled or have difficulty moving around, you are legally entitled to receive assistance when you fly. This free service is available to anyone with mobility problems, for example, because of your disability, age or a temporary injury. Food allergies or specific dietary requirements on board the ship: If you’ve got any food allergies or specific dietary requirements, it is important that you advise us at the time of booking. It is also essential that you make the maître d’ aware of your allergies or dietary requirements after arriving on board and ask for information about ingredients before eating. Cruise guests are also reminded that any required medications should be kept with them at all times.

ON BOARD Health and Safety procedures: We have developed stringent procedures for dealing with viral or bacterial illnesses in relation to our cruises. These procedures may mean that some facilities and services may not be available during the cruise package. The procedures may also change at short notice depending on the circumstances and latest advice and guidance available in respect of the particular illness. Any procedures introduced to prevent or limit the spread of viral or bacterial illnesses will not be a significant change to your cruise package. You are required to follow our instructions or those of the Master or the ship’s crew in respect of any procedures designed to prevent or limit the spread of viral or bacterial illnesses. This may include the mandatory wearing of face masks in all public areas. If you fail to comply with our procedures or our instructions or those of the ship’s Master or crew or your health or conduct is likely to endanger the health and safety of other passengers or crew, we and/or the ship’s master reserve the right to take reasonable and appropriate action which could include the curtailment of your cruise package. In such circumstances, no compensation or refund will be payable and, in the event of curtailment, you will be liable to pay any additional expenses reasonably incurred in arranging the curtailment.

Love it first time guarantee: Available to guests that have not previously cruised with Saga Cruises on an ocean cruise. We guarantee you will love your first cruise, or will refund your fare. To take advantage of the guarantee you must state your intention on board to the Hotel General Manager during the first 72 hours of your cruise at the latest (for cruises seven nights or over; during the first 48 hours for cruises under seven nights). They will

endeavour to resolve any issues; if a solution cannot be agreed, we will cover costs for your return transport home at the next available port, and refund the fare that you have paid for your cruise (we will not refund any costs you have incurred for items not purchased directly through Saga, such as overnight accommodation or third-party insurance). The guarantee does not affect our pre-departure cancellation policy. Further terms and conditions may apply.

Bookings made 18 months or more before departure: This section only applies to cruises offered with optional travel insurance and additional cancellation rights. Our optional travel insurance and additional cancellation rights cannot be offered with cruises booked more than 18 months before departure. Customers who wish to include the optional travel insurance and additional cancellation rights will have their booking held until 18 months before the departure date. Should you need to cancel prior to your booking being confirmed, a full refund will be available. Once within 18 months of departure, the optional travel insurance and additional cancellation rights can be added and the cruise confirmed. This is subject to the normal insurance policy conditions and Saga’s booking conditions.

Additional cancellation rights: Where you have chosen to include the optional travel insurance you benefit from additional cancellation rights which allow you to cancel your cruise under a range of different circumstances and receive a full refund of all the money you have paid to us, less an administration of £80 per person.
