On the way between Würzburg and Füssen, the route crosses the charming Tauber Valley, the geological hotspot of Nördlinger Ries, the picturesque Lechfeld and the idyllic Pfaffenwinkel region at the foot of the Alps in Upper Bavaria, which is home to the Wieskirche Pilgrimage Church. The route finishes in style at King Ludwig’s fairytale castles, which are surrounded by four lakes against the backdrop of the Ammergau Alps Nature Reserve.
