Austria

This central European delight should definitely be on your travel list if you have a sweet tooth. Referred to as the capital of cake, every road and square is home to a bakery, and every bakery is home to indulgent pastries, petit fours and, of course, Sachertorte. This penchant for the sugary things in life goes well with the unique café culture found in the country’s coffee houses.

With the Alps stretching across a large part of the country, Austria can offer breathtaking scenery, fantastic ski resorts and numerous walking opportunities. One such route, The Eagle Walk, is known for showcasing some of the best views of the Tirolean Mountains on a 250-mile trek that is split into 33 different stages.

Discover the capital of the Czech Republic. During this tour you see all of the most interesting historical sights of Prague – the Municipal House, Wenceslas Square, the National Museum, Charles Square followed by a ride along the beautiful riverside, across the River Vltava to Prague Castle. After a walk you return to the city centre to the Old Town Square. Here you can admire the Tyn Church, St. Nicholas Church and the Astronomical clock on the Old Town Hall where the tour ends.

Switzerland Switzerland boasts some of the most breathtaking natural scenery in the world. Upon arrival in Zurich transfer to your hotel.

In the morning you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Zurich and its main monuments: take in the fabulous views of the Alps and Lake Zurich from the Höhenstrasse. We will stop briefly in Rapperswil, the quaint city of roses. On our way back to Zurich you can enjoy a lovely cruise on Lake Zurich (no guide). After your cruise you have free time to explore before making your own way back to the hotel.

Departure for Lucerne and enjoy a short sightseeing tour with free time to explore Lucerne on your own. At noon we continue to Engelberg. Take the rotating Rotair cable car to the top of Mount Titlis and its spectacular glacier. From an elevation of 3.020 m, visitors enjoy breathtaking views of the Central Alps. In the afternoon visit the lakeside town of Brienz and see the talented woodcarving artisans before we continue to Interlaken, at the foot of Mount Jungfrau.

From Interlaken we drive along Lake Thun to Bern, located on the Aare River, overlooking the Alps. Visit the city before we continue to Gruyeres, a picturesque village with an impressive medieval castle.

Start the day with a sightseeing tour of Geneva. Visit the beautiful parks along the lake, the cathedral and the European headquarters of the UN. Then we travel to Lausanne and Montreux with its magnificent Chillon Castle with free time to visit Montreux. In the afternoon we explore the Rodano river valley as far as Täsch. From here we continue by narrow gauge train to Zermatt, nestled at the foot of mighty Mount Matterhorn.

In the morning explore Zermatt at your leisure or undertake an optional excursion to the top of Mount Gornergrat (not included). In the afternoon we return to Täsch where we board a bus for a spectacular drive over the high Nufenen mountain pass to Airolo. Later we return to Zurich.

Depart UK – Zurich – St. Moritz Upon arrival transfer to the train station in Zurich. Travel by train to Chur and transfer to the famous red train to St. Moritz, travelling through the spectacular Albula gorge. Arrival in St. Moritz and transfer to the hotel.

Glacier Express: St. Moritz – Zermatt After breakfast we board the famous Glacier Express.
