OUR FIRST CROSS-COUNTRY RACE
SUN PROTECTION SCHOOL PROGRAM
Ana and Daniel are very excited. They are about to take part in their first school cross-country race with other children from their class. Ready, set... go!
Daniel: Well done, Ana!
Ana is one of the pupils in the lead, but something seems to be bothering her... Could it be the skin of the boy running beside her? Why is it red?
Daniel: Ana! Where are you going?
Ana: Come here! Help me!
Ana has left the race! Why would she do that?
Ana: Did you see that the boy running beside me had red skin?
Daniel: Come on! Quick!
Daniel: Here it is!
Ana and Daniel’s backpack has everything they would need to protect themselves from the sun: T-shirt, cap, sunglasses, water bottle and... sunscreen!
Ana and Daniel are running so quickly that they’re about to catch up with the boy who is in first place.
Ohhh! They almost made it. Martin has won.
Ana and Daniel: Congratulations!
Martin: You were winning. Why did you leave the race?
Ana: I saw you needed sunscreen.
Martin: Sunscreen? What for?
Ana: Our teacher explained to us that we have to protect our skin from the sun’s rays with sunscreen. Daniel: We put it on before we left the house.
Ana, Daniel and Martin: When you play sports, always remember to put on sunscreen! And don’t forget to throw the empty container in the recycling bin! We must also take care of the planet!
Today Martin has won much more than a cross-country race. He has made two new friends and has found out how to protect his skin from the sun’s rays.
