Jinja, as many African cities is going through a rapid expansion due to rural urban migration and natural population growth. Being the second largest town in Uganda it now covers an area of approximately 28 square kilometres. Whether it is for urban space or for industrialized agricultural space, surrounding zones and forests are now at stake in this race for land.
